Ever since the beginning of the Shinobi villages in Naruto, fans have seen countless powerful monsters take the era by storm and establish their presence, but none have done it like Hashirama Senju and Hiruzen Sarutobi. As far as the old era is concerned, Hashirama Senju was the First Hokage of Konoha, and together with Madara Uchiha, he was the one who established Konoha in the first place. Many centuries later, Hiruzen Sarutobi was also considered a legendary ninja, the likes of whom hardly anyone could rival.

Just like Hashirama, he went on to be labeled as the God of Shinobi. In the current era in Boruto, the world has moved forward quite a bit, and Shinobi villages have evolved, consequently. As such, it is now time to welcome the new God of Shinobi in the new era, and that is none other than the Seventh Hokage of Konoha, Naruto Uzumaki, despite his absence from the series.

The God of Shinobi is a very prestigious title that only a handful of individuals have acquired over the years. The first person to do this was the First Hokage of Konoha, Hashirama Senju, and he did this through sheer strength. Hashirama Senju was the reincarnation of Asura Otsutsuki, and by virtue of that, he had already acquired tremendous chakra results as well as life force. Hashirama was also blessed with the power of Wood Release, and this Kekkei Genkai allowed him to reach the next level in terms of strength. By hardening himself through the countless battles he faced on the battlefield, he forged the reputation of being the strongest in the entire world during his era, even defeating Madara Uchiha while he was at it.

Hashirama's strength was legendary, and by the time the village system was established, he was already considered to be the God of Shinobi. Hashirama was so strong that even during the era of Naruto and the others, few could come close to him in terms of power.
After Hashirama, the only shinobi who went on to gain the title of God of Shinobi is none other than the Third Hokage of Konoha, Hiruzen Sarutobi. Hiruzen is one of the most underrated ninjas of all time, and even though fans might not like how he dealt with the politics in Konoha, his strength remains unquestionable. Hiruzen had immense power up his sleeve and a mastery of almost all the ninjutsu that existed in the history of Konoha, excluding Kekkei Genkai and Hiden techniques.
As such, Hiruzen was known as the Professor because his knowledge had reached sky-high levels. On top of that, it was very clear for the fans to see that his own physical strength as well as his chakra reserves were on a completely different level. With the Monkey King Enma at his side, Hiruzen was almost unbeatable in battle.
In fact, his strength was such that even though he was old and dying and barely had the energy to fight, Orochimaru was still easily stopped by him in the first part of the series, and that was only a fraction of his true power. It has even been stated that out of all the Kage that existed before Naruto Uzumaki, Hiruzen was the strongest, which means that some statements even put him above the legendary First Hokage of Konoha. Quite clearly, Hiruzen is worthy of the title of the God of Shinobi as well.
Naruto Uzumaki Is The New God Of Shinobi In the Boruto Era

If there is any character that deserves to be called the god of shinobi in the modern era, it is most certainly Naruto Uzumaki. Naruto is so strong that the combined power of Hiruzen and Hashirama would pale in comparison to his. In fact, even the power of all the other Kage combined would not equate to a fraction of the power that he possesses. Naruto's knowledge is also immense, and his strength is unmatched. At the same time, the level-headedness and kind-heartedness that he carries with him make him the greatest shinobi of all time.
Naruto Went On to Surpass All Previous Kage
Naruto has done more than enough to earn the title of god of shinobi. He has defended the world from the threat of Madara Uchiha and even the likes of Kaguya Otsutsuki. In the Boruto era, he has fought the likes of Momoshiki Otsutsuki, and even defeated Isshiki Otsutsuki. He has done far more than any other Kage has ever done, and for all that, he has most certainly earned the right to be called the god of shinobi.
This power is immense. It should definitely surpass his. But the drawbacks are too great. You see, the fact that it drains our lifespan is the key here. By this time in the Boruto era, Naruto should widely be recognized as the savior of the world and the God of Shinobi, and this title should be attached to his name more than anyone else's. This is something that would make fans of the Naruto series incredibly happy too, since, as of late, Naruto has not been treated properly by the writers of the series.
Sasuke Uchiha Is The Other God of Shinobi In Boruto
Along with Naruto Uzumaki, there is one other ninja who deserves to be called the God of Shinobi, and that is Sasuke Uchiha. Kishimoto has always made sure that Naruto and Sasuke progress together, and if Naruto gets the right to be called the God of Shinobi, Sasuke will most likely follow as well. These two always fight together and risk their lives for the sake of their loved ones as well as the village. They have been through countless hardships in their own ways and through it all sacrificed themselves countless times for others.
Just like Naruto, Sasuke possesses tremendous strength, and more than that, a self-sacrificing nature For all that he has done over the years, he too deserves to be called the God of Shinobi in the Boruto era as well. Hopefully, the Boruto series will not do more disservice to these legends and give them their proper titles in the upcoming years.
For that, fans will have to wait, because at the moment, neither Naruto nor Sasuke is even remotely close to making their comeback. Perhaps in the next few years, Naruto and Sasuke will finally be back, and when that happens, they might even get their powers back. Naruto and Sasuke must be revered as untouchable legends at the end of the Boruto series because they most certainly have earned the right to be called that.
