This article contains spoilers from the Boruto series.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has its fair share of some absolutely incredible characters, and both Kishimoto and Ikemoto have done incredibly well to show the fans that the series is now better than ever before. From introducing powerful enemies to giving more of the side cast some focus, Boruto certainly has leveled up quite a bit. At the same time, Boruto is also keeping its essence alive by making the next generation of ninjas follow in the footsteps of the old generation.
Get Ready For Boruto Uzumaki's New Power-Up In Two Blue Vortex
Boruto Uzumaki has a major power up coming up, and it will make him up to the Shinju challenge.
Sarada Uchiha tries to follow Naruto Uzumaki and be a Hokage like him, and Shikadai tends to follow in his own father's footsteps. Similarly, there are some who unknowingly take up the mantle from the legends of the Naruto world as well, and even Itachi Uchiha has his own heir in Boruto. As fans know, Itachi Uchiha was a protector of Konoha from the shadows who disgraced himself for the sake of the village. According to Hashirama Senju, Itachi was a shinobi even greater than him, and that certainly says a lot. Itachi is long dead, but those who carry his spirit still live. Boruto Uzumaki, the son of Naruto and the protagonist of the series, is the new Itachi Uchiha of Konoha.
Boruto Uzumaki Is The New Itachi Of Konoha
Boruto Protects The Village From The Shadows
- Itachi disgraced himself for the village
- Boruto Uzumaki is following in his footsteps
At first glance, fans might not realize the similarities between Itachi Uchiha and Boruto Uzumaki, but the deeper Two Blue Vortex dives into the story, the easier it is to conclude that they're quite literally the same.
Self-sacrifice! That's the true essence of a shinobi! — Itachi Uchiha in Naruto
Itachi Uchiha and Boruto Uzumaki had very different starts to their lives. While Itachi was wise, possessing the wisdom of a Kage right from the get-go, Boruto was a spoiled child who knew nothing of what a Shinobi truly was. However, as he progressed, Boruto came to know what it meant to be a ninja and he's done incredibly well to embody the spirit of the Shinobi since.
Get Ready For Sasuke Uchiha's New Overpowered Ability In Boruto
Sasuke was nerfed in Boruto, but he will return with a major power-up.
At the core of Itachi's character is self-sacrifice, and that's exactly what Boruto embodies. Just like Itachi, Boruto was cast out of the village, yet he continues to protect it from the outside. Boruto lives as a disgraced ninja who is hated by the Shinobi world, but in reality, it is he who saves the village from big threats without them even knowing. Just like Itachi, Boruto doesn't need credit, and he doesn't need to be hailed as the savior. All he needs is to keep protecting Konoha from the shadows.
You want to become Hokage right? Then I'll support you from the shadows. — Boruto Uzumaki to Sarada Uchiha
Boruto Can't Match Itachi's Legacy
He Protects Konoha In His Own Way
While it is true that Boruto Uzumaki is the new Itachi Uchiha of the franchise, it must also be acknowledged that he can't match Itachi's legacy. Boruto Uzumaki’s series is, unfortunately, not as big as Naruto. On top of that, Boruto doesn't have nearly as many fans as Itachi Uchiha, and even though there are significant improvements to both the plot and the characters of Boruto, it still doesn't compare to Naruto. Boruto Uzumaki is still a good character and he will continue to walk in the footsteps of Itachi Uchiha, but he'll never be as iconic as Konoha's legendary Uchiha.
