Summary
- Get JP Up for faster Job leveling in Bravely Default.
- More Money skill helps players earn PG easily.
- Silence Immunity aids mages in casting spells.
Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster is a surprise launch game for the Switch 2, but a welcome one since it launched in Japan originally for the 3DS in 2012. It was set up as a spiritual sequel to Final Fantasy, complete with elemental crystals and a Job system.
Players can unlock Jobs as they progress through the game’s story and by completing side quests. As Jobs level up, characters will unlock active and passive skills. These passive skills can be equipped to other Jobs and can do everything from boost stats to grant dungeon abilities. Let’s go through some early ones to unlock quickly in Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster.
8 JP Up
Earn More JP
- Job: Freelancer (Level 10)
JP Up is a must for any player who likes to game Job systems in games. It will take a while to get it for the Freelancer Job in Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster, but it is well worth it. This will slightly increase the amount of JP earned, which is a separate leveling-up mechanic from EXP.
Players should always have at least one Freelancer in the party trying to obtain this skill, and it may as well be Tiz first.
7 More Money
Earn More Money
- Job: Merchant (Level 9)
More Money is a Merchant skill which is a Job that can be obtained through a side quest. With the skill, players can earn more money, or PG as it is called in Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster, after battle.
To get the best weapons and armor in the game, players will have to fork over a lot of cash, and this is an easy way to earn it. More Money doesn’t stack for the party, so only one character has to earn it.
6 Silence Immunity
Help Mages Always Cast Spells
- Job: Black Mage (Level 6)
Status effects are common in many RPGs, and those in Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster should be familiar to Final Fantasy fans. Silence, for example, will prevent characters like mages from casting spells.
Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD: All Party Members and When They Unlock
Players have allies fighting by their side on their quest in the Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster. Here's how to unlock all party members.
A Black Mage or a White Mage is practically useless in this state, which is why the Black Mage’s Silence Immunity skill is useful. Most Jobs have some sort of status effect immunity beyond the Black Mage, like the Freelancer’s Poison Immunity or the Monk’s Blind Immunity.
5 MP 10% Up
Get More MP
- Job: Freelancer (Level 7)
A mage-type class also relies heavily on MP, or Magic Points, that allows them to cast spells. Ethers are items that can restore MP, but they cost a lot of money, which is why the Freelancer’s MP 10% Up skill is useful, as it increases the stat.
The Black Mage and the White Mage of the party should have this skill equipped so that they don’t have to rely on using items as much. If players are worried about HP, then they can increase that stat with a few levels of HP 10% Up for the Monk Job.
4 M.Attack Up 10% Up
Magic Attack Hit Harder
- Job: Time Mage (Level 2)
M.Attack Up 10% Up is yet another boost for mages in the party, and it belongs to another type, the Time Mage. The Time Mage can also be acquired through a side quest in Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster, which is a Job that starts small with its spells, but eventually, it can get some great ones like Haste.
M.Attack Up 10% will increase the attack power of skills like a Black Mage’s Fire or Ice, for example. For physical-type Jobs looking to beef up their attacks too, the Monk has P.Attack Up 10%.
3 Master Thief
Steal From Enemies Easier
- Job: Thief (Level 10)
Master Thief belongs to the Thief Job, which is yet another one tied to a side quest in Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster. A Thief is a pretty common RPG class, and players typically have one in the party for a single reason: Steal.
How To Beat Orthros in Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster
Here's the secret to beating the challenging Boss Orthros in Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster.
Steal is a Job Command for the Thief, which gives players a small chance to steal from enemies. They can increase this infinity further with accessories, armor, or Master Thief. Always be sure to try and steal from bosses as they sometimes hold rare items.
2 M.Defense Up 10% Up
Receive Less Damage From Magic Attacks
- Job: White Mage (Level 2)
Most of the random monsters that players will encounter will deal physical damage, but the bosses are more magic-based. That’s why a skill like M.Defense Up 10% is useful as it will lessen the impact from magic and special attacks.
If players really want to decrease damage, they can go the elemental route, as most Jobs have an elemental reduction skill. Along with M.Defense Up 10% Up, White Mages have Abate Water, which can decrease water-based damage, and Black Mages have Abate Fire.
1 Firewall
Chance To Counterattack With Fire
- Job: Spell Fencer (Level 3)
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 fans know the power of a well-timed counter, and Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster has some variants as well. Players can learn Firewall from the Spell Fencer Job, which has a chance to counter physical attacks with a fiery attack in return.
It won’t do a lot of damage, but it’s always good to have a counter in the back pocket. As players progress, more skills will appear through later Jobs, so they should keep an eye out.
