15 Dueling Peaks Stable In West Necluda

The Dueling Peaks Stable is likely the first stable new players will encounter in Hyrule. Found just east of the Dueling Peak mountains in the West Necluda region, Link is bound to stumble past this stable on his journey to Kakariko Village. Following the road due east from the Great Plateau will take players straight through the mountains and to their first-ever Hyrule stable.

Players can start the side quest "Misko, the Great Bandit," and hunt for some treasure, otherwise, the Wild Horses side-quest is a great incentive for players to tame their first horse and get riding around Hyrule! Breath of the Wild is known for having a great introductory sequence, with even the first stable being pretty eventful in its own right. It's a great introduction to this structure and how important it is for players who want to use a horse and travel the world in style, compelling players to discover more stable locations in BotW to make exploration faster and more rewarding than ever.

14 Highland Stable Near The Faron Sea

Following the main road to the southeast of the Great Plateau will lead players across Lake Hylia and eventually take them to the Highland Stables in the Faron Grassland region of Hyrule. Don’t forget to complete the side-quest "The Horseback Hoodlums" and save Highland Stable from a gang of Bokoblins causing trouble in the grasslands for a Swift Carrot reward. Players with the DLC can also complete the "EX Ancient Horse Rumors" quest to find the Ancient Saddle and Bridle.

13 Lakeside Stable By Lake Floria

Notable Side Quests: "Thunder Magnet"

• South of Lake Floria

Just south of Faron Tower, hidden away in the lush jungle of the Faron region is Lakeside Stable. Set right next to Lake Floria, Lakeside Stable is a great spot to set off and search for some mighty bananas, a chef’s favorite attack-boosting fruit. Grabbing the Axe off the top of the stable will end the pesky thunderstorm plaguing the stable and complete the "Thunder Magnet" side-quest at the same time, rewarding players with the Rubber Helm, a piece of the Rubber Armor set!

Given that this stable is in an area that features many powerful enemies, it's easy to see why most players will be more than happy to happen upon this stable after a wealth of tough encounters. It lets them enjoy a much-needed breather and interact with friendly people after a lengthy stretch of exploration. If players don't want to engage in challenging encounters, then they can board a horse from this stable location in BotW and zoom past any tough enemy that may pose a significant challenge for them.

12 Riverside Stable Between Hyrule Field And West Necluda

Notable Side Quests: "The Royal Guard’s Gear" And "A Royal Recipe"

• Hard to miss in Hyrule Field

North-east of the Great Plateau, along the Hylia River, players will discover Riverside Stable. Another good early stable for new players, the Riverside Stable offers a rare safe zone in the Central Hyrule region, hidden away from those deadly guardian laser beams. Given how threatening Guardians are no matter how much progress players make in the game, it's easy to see why players would love a respite from their damaging attacks and relentless pursuit.

Players should make it a priority to grab "The Royal Guard’s Gear" and "A Royal Recipe" side-quests while here. These quests should only be completed in the endgame, but noting them down doesn't hurt. It's not like the game forces players to head to Hyrule Castle and finish this quest the very moment they catch wind of this information. However, after gathering the courage to explore near Hyrule Castle, players will love the convenience of this stable location in BotW and how it lets them enjoy a much-deserved breather after numerous tough encounters.

11 Wetland Stable In The Lanayru Wetlands

Notable Side Quests: "Riverbed Reward"

• Situated alongside the Hylia River

Following the Hylia River north past Riverside Stable will bring Link to the Wetland Stable. Located just west of the Lanayru Wetlands, this stable is a great spot to start a journey heading up into the Zora Domain lying just to the east, following a grueling mountain climb through an army of Lizalfos.

Players can complete the "Riverbed Reward" quest by pulling a chest out of the river. Telling Izra what was found inside will gift players a Royal Broadsword. After all, Breath of the Wild is full to the brim with secrets, and its stables are no exception to this rule.

10 Woodland Stable Near Eldin Canyon

Notable Side Quests: "Balloon Fight" And "EX Strange Mask Rumors"

• Alongside the road in northern Hyrule, right between East Hyrule Castle and Eldin Canyon

Woodland Stable can be found in the northeast corner of Central Hyrule, equidistant between Death Mountain and Hyrule Castle. Following the trail leading past Woodland Stable to the north will bring players to Woodland Tower and then to the Great Hyrule Forest, where players can pick up the Master Sword.

Link can also find the recipe for hasty vegetable curry, a dish to make Link move like the wind. Players can complete the "Balloon Fight" quest as well as the "EX Strange Mask Rumors" quest here. By this point, players should have accumulated enough strength to give Ganon a challenge, but more work should be done regardless. After all, the last thing players want is to head to Hyrule Castle only to run out of powerful equipment or valuable resources.

9 Foothill Stable Between Zora's Domain And Goron City

Notable Side Quests: "A Landscape Of A Stable"

• Right along the main road that leads further into the Eldin Canyon region, located in eastern Trilby Valley

Smack dab in the middle between Zora's Domain and Goron City lies the Foothill Stable. Under the foot of Death Mountain is an ominous place for a stable, but Foothill Stable manages to make the best of it. If anything, this stable location in BotW is perfect for players struggling with the high temperatures of this region.

Bringing an Amopranth and then a cold, warm, and electric Darner will satisfy Gleema's birthday needs. It's a simple reward, but every single rupee counts when players are low on arrows or materials.

7 East Akkala Stable In Northern Akkala Highlands

Notable Side Quests: "A Shady Customer" And "The Spring of Power"

• Located in Deep Akkala

At the far northeast corner of the map, players will find the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab. It's a useful location for upgrading Link’s Sheikah Slate and getting some new Ancient duds.

Down the road, just south of the Tech Lab, players will find the East Akkala Stable, with a gorgeous view of the Akkala Sea. On their way through, players should be sure to pick up the side-quests "A Shady Customer" and "The Spring of Power".

6 Outskirt Stable In The Southwest Corner Of Central Hyrule

Notable Side Quests: "A Rare Find", "The Royal White Stallion", And "My Hero"

• In Hyrule Field, surrounded by tree stumps

In the southwest corner of the Central Hyrule region lies Outskirt Stable. Almost directly underneath the Great Plateau, Outskirt Stable makes for a great first stable for new players.

It lies just west of the Coliseum, the tauntingly dangerous stadium easily accessible to players first jumping off the Great Plateau. Additionally, the side quests "A Rare Find", "The Royal White Stallion", and "My Hero" can all be picked up at Outskirt Stable.
