Sole developer FYQD Studio released a new gameplay trailer for its in-development title Bright Memory: Infinite during the Inside Xbox live stream today. To the uninitiated, FYQD released Bright Memory via Steam's Early Access program for the PC in January 2019, and the game officially left early access last March. However, FYQD decided to call this version of the game finished, and moved towards a more fleshed-out version with Bright Memory: Infinite.

The latest gameplay footage of Bright Memory: Infinite that was revealed during the Inside Xbox live stream showcased a well-polished and action-packed first-person shooter that features heavy gunplay combined with hack and slash elements and even a vehicle chase sequence. What's impressive with this game is that it is being developed by a single individual, with audio, music, and publishing support from Playism. Additionally, Xbox's Head of Global Portfolio Damon Baker revealed that Bright Memory: Infinite, and the rest of the games that were showcased at Inside Xbox, will be optimized for the Xbox Series X.

Damon also revealed that Bright Memory: Infinite will include support for a new smart delivery system, allowing players to purchase the game once and own their future Xbox consoles. Unfortunately, given that Bright Memory: Infinite will be released to the Xbox Series X, its release date was not revealed during the Inside Xbox live stream. However, the game is expected to launch shortly after the release of the next-generation Xbox console. Given its impressive design and features such as high-frame-rate support and ray tracing, it is mind-boggling to know that the game is being developed by a single individual.

Bright Memory: Infinite is set in a futuristic world in the year 2036. However, a strange phenomenon occurred in the skies around the world that scientists cannot explain. This prompted The Supernatural Science Organization (SRO) to send in agents from around the world to investigate the mysterious occurrence. From the sound of it, Bright Memory: Infinite's plot does sound similar to Remedy Entertainment's Control. However, its gameplay is vastly different from Control with its first-person perspective and fast-paced heavy action experience.

During the early access of the first game, may players noted Bright Memory's similarity with Capcom's Devil May Cry franchise. However, even though Bright Memory and Devil May Cry shared the same aesthetics, the former is a first-person action shooter, that offers an interesting story and adrenaline-pumping gameplay.

Bright Memory: Infinite is in development for the PC and Xbox Series X.
