Summary
- Call of Duty: Warzone players want human-like aim assist like Fortnite's to level the playing field.
- Fans believe Fortnite's updates and player-focused development set it miles ahead of Warzone, with this recent aim assist shift being just one example.
Call of Duty: Warzone players want Activision to take inspiration from Fortnite and introduce the human-like aim assist which Epic Games recently debuted in the game. The new aim assist was added in Fortnite as part of the Chapter 5 Season 4 update to ensure that players on controllers do not get an unfair advantage over keyboard and mouse players, and it seems like Call of Duty: Warzone players could also benefit quite a bit from it.
The aim assist feature has been one of the most controversial aspects of Call of Duty games in recent times. With the advent of crossplay, it is quite crucial that a level playing field is created between players playing the game on keyboard and mouse and controllers, but finding a balance has always been tricky. Activision revealed that it is all set to make some significant changes to the aim assist mechanic with the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, but the initial reception during the beta phase wasn't the best, to say the least. However, it seems like Fortnite is setting a benchmark for the FPS genre.
Wild Fortnite Clip Proves It May Be Best to Avoid Vehicles For the Time Being
A Fortnite fan highlights how vehicles do not enjoy the same dominance as the previous season anymore, sparking a debate in the community.
In a new post on the Call of Duty: Warzone subreddit, user mikerichh highlights that Activision should borrow a page from Fortnite's book. During the mid-season Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 update, Epic Games added an all-new feature known as human-like aim assist for controller players. What this basically does is it mimics human behavior, preventing users from hitting impossible shots. It tries to reduce the stickiness of aim assist, which means that any sudden movement from the opponent wouldn't be tracked in a more human-like way. Obviously, this isn't going to be entirely fool-proof, but the developers state that it can make a difference in cases where the human reaction is consistently predictable.
Fans Feel Fortnite is Miles Ahead of Call of Duty: Warzone
Call of Duty: Warzone fans think that Activision should implement something similar, and used this example to underline the fact that Fortnite is miles ahead of competition. Redditor trashed717 highlights that Warzone lacks the support and strategic direction that Fortnite has, and what makes Fortnite stand out is its top-notch updates. Epic Games' proactive development, which relies a lot on player feedback, is something the Warzone community seems to admire quite a lot.
While some are hopeful that this would set a good precedence for the industry, many fans are still skeptical that Activision would implement something similar. They highlight the fact that a number of PC players have already shifted to controllers, and Activision should have taken note of that and implemented drastic measures to alleviate the situation. However, the recent changes introduced to Call of Duty: Warzone made things even worse according to some players.
