Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Campaign Making Big Departure from Cold War

Days before the official release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, developers confirm the game's campaign mode will take a different approach.

Ahead of its market debut, Activision launched a new promotion that allows Call of Duty fans to earn multiple Double XP tokens, which they'll be able to claim in the game at launch. To do so, they need to head to X, formerly Twitter, and reply to the official @CallOfDuty account's new promo tweet with their Activision ID and the #BlackOps6 hashtag. Doing so will earn them a single Double XP token lasting one hour. This process can be repeated up to three times.

How To Get Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Pre-Release Bonuses

  1. Log into Twitter.
  2. Reply to @CallOfDuty's latest promo tweet with your Activision ID and hashtag #BlackOps6.
  3. Repeat step two up to two more times.
  4. Claim up to three 1-hour Double XP tokens and digital stickers in CoD: Black Ops 6 at launch.

The one-hour Double XP tokens offered as part of the promotion provide boosts for Player XP, Weapon XP, and BattlePass XP, with one of each included. Replying to the promo tweet in the correct format will prompt an automatic response confirming that another in-game reward has been added to one's account, in addition to revealing which one it is. Each response will also include a personalized sticker featuring the marketing campaign's graphic and one's Activision ID. The Call of Duty Twitter account will inform players when they have reached the maximum number of requests, in addition to warning them if their stated ID wasn't found.

Since fans who try sending four or more requests are informed that they have hit their request limit "today," it's possible that this promotion might also return tomorrow, October 24. Activision, for its part, hasn't yet said how long it intends to run it. Tying in-game rewards to multiple replies has done wonders for the post's engagement, with the tweet already being viewed over a million times as of the early afternoon hours ET on October 23, less than two hours after it went live. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is also currently running a Little Caesars promo.

Activision is expected to give away many more Black Ops 6 Double XP tokens over the course of the next 12 months. The shooter itself will be the first Call of Duty title to release day-one on Xbox Game Pass, which might help it achieve record-breaking early adopter numbers.

Forced to go rogue. Hunted from within. This is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. With a mind-bending narrative, and unbound by the rules of engagement, this is signature Black Ops.

The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.

In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.

Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
