Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will not have a platinum trophy on the PlayStation 5, it has been confirmed. While the upcoming shooter will feature a total of 44 trophies for players to collect on the platform, data that comes directly from the backend of PlayStation reveals that users will be unable to obtain a platinum trophy for Black Ops 6 because it is directly tied to the Call of Duty HQ app, which also includes the likes of Warzone, Modern Warfare 3, Black Ops Cold War, and more.
While this is most certainly bad news for trophy hunters, Black Ops 6 is still offering up a plethora of content for players to jump into when the game launches on October 25. As Treyarch's follow-up to Black Ops Cold War will mark a new era in the Call of Duty franchise, there are plenty of major changes being with made Black Ops 6, including a fresh UI for the Call of Duty HQ app. Although there's still a few days to go until Black Ops 6 releases, Activision has already deployed the new UI update for Call of Duty, allowing users to manage their storage space and prepare for the title's release later this week.

While collecting every trophy in a game would usually present users with a platinum trophy, Black Ops 6 will not feature the coveted award as the game is directly tied to the controversial Call of Duty HQ app, and with new games being added to the app each year, it makes it impossible for a player to collect every trophy.

PlayStation 5 users looking to collect every trophy in Black Ops 6 will likely be disappointed by the news, but for those still playing on the last generation of consoles, Black Ops 6 does feature a platinum trophy on the PlayStation 4, according to PlayStation Game Size. This will likely add even more controversy around the Call of Duty HQ app, which has been the main hub for all of the franchise's shooters since 2023. Although the aim is to allow users to manage their game files with ease, the general layout of the app was often blasted by players for being convoluted and essentially just being one big advertisement for the next title. But thanks to a recent Call of Duty update, that no longer appears to be the case.
Although Black Ops 6 isn't due to launch for another few days, a new update to the Call of Duty HQ app has completely revamped the hub's user interface and now presents a much more streamlined experience. While the new layout allows users to manage each title more efficiently, Modern Warfare 3 players were left angered after downloading the update as they discovered that all of their multiplayer, Zombies, and campaign game files had been completely deleted.
