Call of Duty Confirms Last Stand Perk Returning For Black Ops 6
While Treyarch had already revealed Black Ops 6's extensive list of multiplayer perks, the studio has now pulled back the curtain on the shooter's field upgrades, confirming that the iconic yet extremely controversial Modern Warfare 2 perk, Last Stand, will be returning in the form a field upgrade known as Morphine Injector. According to a recent blog post, the field upgrade will be unlocked for players at level 44 and will allow the user to enter a Last Stand state when receiving fatal damage. Teammates will then have the ability to revive the downed player or the user can get a kill to self-revive. Although not clarified, it's likely that players will have the default pistol, similar to the original Last Stand, when in the downed state.
Black Ops 6 is making some major changes to the series, but the return of Last Stand in the form of a field upgrade is one change that hasn't gone down well with fans. Over on Reddit, Potential_Owl7825 says they "hope [Morphine Injector] has an insanely long charge-up time," before explaining that they believe it should only be usable twice per match. Reddit user OhMyTummyHurts said that Last Stand "was removed for good reason" and it's return "is an L."
This also isn't the first time that fans have expressed their dissatisfaction with one of the game's field upgrades. After getting to go hands-on with the shooter earlier this year during its two beta weekends, fans quickly requested that Black Ops 6 make a major change to Sleeper Agent. The controversial field upgrade is unlocked at level 51 and allows players to infiltrate the enemy team, appearing as a friendly to them for a short duration. Many users requested that the upgrade be changed into a scorestreak, but the latest blog post from Treyarch confirms it will be staying as is for launch.
