Treyarch revealed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will have mastery camos for all three game modes, with each camo being equippable on any weapon. The new mastery camos will be available in four tiers of progression in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, including a dedicated mastery camo path for Call of Duty: Warzone.

After months of anticipation following the game's open beta, Black Ops 6 will finally launch on October 25 with a single-player campaign mode, a fully-featured multiplayer mode, and a round-based Zombies mode. 16 maps will be available at launch in Black Ops 6, with a variety of 6v6 and 2v2 modes. A vast assortment of weapons will be available as well, with each weapon having military, special, and mastery camos to unlock by completing challenges per weapon class. This time around, weapon leveling is not factored into unlocking camos, so Black Ops 6 players are encouraged to progress at their own pace.

After unlocking military and special camos for a specific weapon in Black Ops 6 multiplayer, players can begin their mastery camo grind in earnest. According to Treyarch, there will be four mastery camos for multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone, with each camo marking a specific tier of progression toward true mastery. For example, Black Ops 6 players will unlock the Gold mastery camo at tier 1 by earning all military camos and two special camos in multiplayer, along with completing the associated Gold Camo Challenge. At tier 2, Diamond is unlocked by earning Gold for a designated number of weapons in a single weapon class and completing the Diamond Camo Challenge. Progression is similar in tiers 3 and 4 in Black Ops 6 multiplayer, with players needing to reach the upper tier by earning mastery camos for all weapons in their respective classes. Mastery camos in tiers 3 and 4, including Dark Spine and Dark Matter in multiplayer, will have animated and dynamic effects.

A total of eight mastery camos will be available at the launch of Black Ops 6, and tiers 3 and 4 require mastery of all weapons at tier 2 and 3 in multiplayer and Zombies modes, respectively. The four Warzone mastery camos will be available at the launch of Season 1. Once unlocked, these camos may be equipped on weapons across multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone, allowing players to tout their expertise in their favorite modes.

Players can expect more camos to be added at a later date, along with more Black Ops 6 maps and modes during the preseason and Season 1. Warzone will also receive a whole host of additions in Season 1, and the Call of Duty developers will likely share more details after Black Ops 6's launch.

With a mind-bending narrative, and unbound by the rules of engagement, this is signature Black Ops.

The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.

In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.

Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
