Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has delivered the return to form that Call of Duty's Zombies mode so desperately needed. Liberty Falls offers the perfect entry point for newcomers to the round-based Zombies formula while still offering plenty of replayability, Terminus offers seasoned Zombies fans a more traditional challenge, and Citadelle des Morts makes great use of its medieval/fantasy theming. But Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's Zombies mode is far from done.

To celebrate 115 Day (an annual celebration of Call of Duty Zombies held on January 15), Treyarch revealed a wealth of new information about Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's upcoming Zombies content. By far the biggest reveal was the confirmation that a new map, named "The Tomb," will be launching alongside Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 2 on January 28. There's still a lot that fans don't know about the new Zombies map, but the handful of official promo images might remind some fans of a recently released game that's also available on Xbox Game Pass.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies' Pack-a-Punch names are entertaining, but longtime fans will know they are just the latest in a long line.

The Next Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies Map Has Perfect Timing

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's Tomb Map Hearkens Back to Classic Adventure Movies

Set to arrive just less than two months after Citadelle des Morts' release, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's "The Tomb" map will see players take control of Weaver, Carver, Maya, and Grey once more as they take on hordes of the undead. This time, the crew's quest takes them to a mysterious excavation site with a storied history.

According to Treyarch's 115 Day blog post, "The Tomb" was the site of an ancient burial ground from 2500 B.C.E., and was originally excavated in the early 1900s by the British archaeologist, Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe. But this expedition didn't quite go to plan. For some unknown reason, Fotherington-Smythe and his team all disappeared inside the catacombs they were exploring.

Based on this brief description alone, it's clear that Treyarch has been heavily inspired by classic adventure movies while making The Tomb, and those inspirations only become more apparent when looking at the map's first official images.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's The Tomb will "provide an experience similar to Liberty Falls," according to Treyarch's 115 Day blog post, "featuring tighter play spaces with a focus on replayability."

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's Tomb Map Bears a Striking Resemblance to Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Put simply, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's new Zombies map looks as though it's been ripped right out of the Indiana Jones series, more specifically, right out of the recently released Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. On the surface of "The Tomb," players can expect to see sand-covered valleys, ancient sandstone pillars and walls, half-excavated treasures, and a sprawling network of metallic scaffolding and tarpaulin sheets. Below the surface, players can expect to find the unearthed remains of a long-gone civilization.

For any fans of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle who have gotten as far as Gizeh, these sights are probably going to look very familiar. With Indiana Jones and the Great Circle still being fairly fresh in the minds of those who have played it, Black Ops 6's "The Tomb" feels perfectly timed, and both titles being available on Xbox Game Pass gives them an inherent connection.

Forced to go rogue. Hunted from within. This is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. With a mind-bending narrative, and unbound by the rules of engagement, this is signature Black Ops.

The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.

In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.

Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
