Activision has confirmed that the next trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is live-action and releases on May 28, with other recent news hinting at what fans might see in the teaser. Although some might be slightly disappointed with a live-action trailer, there will be a much larger event for those awaiting Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 not long after the video's release.
On June 9, Black Ops 6 will get its full reveal, which will likely include in-game footage. That reveal event is part of the Xbox June Showcase, where other Xbox-related projects will be shown off. The event's lineup is not public, but rumors range from a new DOOM game to Gears of War 6 to Outer Worlds 2. But CoD fans can expect new info much sooner.
Black Ops 6's live-action trailer drops at 10 a.m. ET on Tuesday, May 28. A thumbnail for the unreleased trailer is already viewable on Call of Duty's YouTube account, which shows the tagline "The Truth Lies" with an image of Saddam Hussein and coordinates to the ruler's former palace in Baghdad. This seems to further confirm previous rumors of Black Ops 6 being set during the Gulf War, when a coalition of nations faced off with a Hussein-led Iraqi military. True to its name, Call of Dut y's next Black Ops title seems to follow some sort of covert intrigue set during the major military conflict.
Black Ops 6's Next Trailer
- Releases on May 28
- Is live-action
- Its thumbnail features Saddam Hussein, who could be a central figure in the game's story
Activision has managed to avoid any major gameplay leaks so far; however, a purported Black Ops 6 menu screen recently made its way onto the internet. The leak's validity has not been confirmed yet, but it shows an in-game menu screen that's basically identical to the menus seen in recent Modern Warfare titles.
It also seems that Black Ops 6 will release on last-gen consoles. While this is good news for Xbox One and PS4 owners, it means the franchise will be affected by the limitations of those older devices for at least another year.
So far, the marketing for Treyarch's next Call of Duty places lots of emphasis on anti-establishment themes, with images of famous government landmarks like Mount Rushmore and Brandenburg Gate being defaced. This isn't that unusual for the Black Ops series, as some of the previous games painted intelligence agencies, in particular, in a flashy but very murky light.

Forced to go rogue. Hunted from within. This is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. With a mind-bending narrative, and unbound by the rules of engagement, this is signature Black Ops.
The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.
In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.
Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
