A Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 player managed to reach the coveted Prestige Master rank in multiplayer in less than a week's time. The player appears to be one of the first people to ever reach Prestige Master in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, but the achievement is slightly controversial due to the involvement of their team.
On October 25, Black Ops 6 launched with 16 multiplayer maps, including 12 6v6-focused maps and four Strike maps. In the days following the game's launch, many players have been working toward reaching max level and hitting the first Prestige rank, since Black Ops 6 marked the return of the traditional Prestige system that fans enjoyed in Black Ops 1 and 2. Activision and Treyarch also hosted Call of Duty's official "Race to Prestige" Twitch event after launch, which saw multiple teams compete to be the first to reach Prestige Master.

As spotted by VG247, 8Spez and their team, Pits Team, reached Prestige Master in Black Ops 6 multiplayer during the Race to Prestige event. The player celebrated their team's first place finish in the event on Twitter, but the celebration was met with some skepticism regarding the ethics of the team. Under 8Spez's post, Twitter users were commenting that Pits Team used a VPN to claim victory, just a few days after FaZe Clan content creator FaZe Swagg pointed out that Pits Team was switching their VPN's location to Bangladesh shortly after the event began. As a result, some Black Ops 6 players are unhappy with the team's victory, since the VPN could have been used to gain an unfair advantage in the race, such as faster XP gains in easier lobbies. In a reply, 8Spez claimed that the VPN was only used twice since the team had difficulty logging into the servers.

This process can turn out to be repetitive for even the most dedicated players in Black Ops 6.
Prestige Master does not mark the end of one's journey in Black Ops 6's multiplayer, however. Black Ops 6 Season 1 will begin on Thursday, November 14, so players will still have new weapons and gear to level up soon. To achieve true mastery of Black Ops 6, players may work toward unlocking Mastery Camos in both multiplayer and Zombies with all weapons.
