  • Black Ops 6 players discover a game-breaking issue with the game's emote feature.
  • Certain emotes allow the player to see in the third person, giving them an unfair advantage against opponents.
  • Some users are suggesting the feature be changed drastically, while others are calling for emotes to be removed completely.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 players have discovered a huge issue with the game's emotes feature, which allows users to briefly go into third-person and see enemies that would not be visible while in first-person. Call of Duty fans were given the opportunity to go hands-on with Black Ops 6 as part of the game's open beta weekends during August and September, and it looks like they've already discovered some game-breaking features that were overlooked by developer Treyarch Studios.

In preparation for launch, Treyarch Studios recently confirmed the full list of changes being made to Black Ops 6 from its recent beta weekends. The blog post lists plenty of adjustments, from movement tweaks to weapon balancing, fan feedback from both beta weekends has been heard loud and clear by the studio, which means the upcoming shooter will feature a plethora of changes come October 25 when Black Ops 6 releases for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

A lot of pressure is being placed on the Zombies of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and one form of content will be key to making the mode a success.

While Treyarch has already confirmed it will be making changes to Black Ops 6's winner's circle, fans are now urging the studio to make a massively important change to the in-game emotes. Over on Reddit, a user posted a short clip from YouTuber ImMarksman, who was playing the Black Ops 6 beta and managed to kill two opponents after revealing their locations by using an emote that changed his perspective from first to third-person. The Redditor noted how this feature will be a "huge issue" and that all emotes should be in first-person to prevent any unfair advantages.

Black Ops 6 Players Find Huge Issue With Emotes

Many users pointed out that this feels like an unfortunate throwback to the days of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, as the same mistake was made by Treyarch in the 2018 shooter, with one user saying they "don't know what [Treyarch] was thinking making [emotes] third person." Another Reddit user said that the studio should take a leaf out of Apex Legends' book and avoid rendering all other players during the emote unless they were already visible to the player beforehand. Others said that emotes should be completely disabled outside of the winner's circle.

With Black Ops 6 right around the corner, Warzone is set to undergo some massive updates. Alongside the introduction of omnidirectional movement, fans can also expect to see the return of emotes and sprays to the free-to-play Battle Royale. But with fans already campaigning to have the former removed from multiplayer, more controversy could be on the way if the feature isn't fixed by the time Black Ops 6 is integrated with Warzone later this year.

Forced to go rogue. Hunted from within. This is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. With a mind-bending narrative, and unbound by the rules of engagement, this is signature Black Ops.

The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.

In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.

Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
