Summary

  • Black Ops 6's TTK faster than Cold War, comparable to MW2.
  • Fans can try Black Ops 6 multiplayer beta on August 30.
  • Beta feedback may influence tweaks like TTK adjustments, but that remains to be seen.

It's been confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Time to Kill will be faster than more recent games in the series. Time to Kill has been a divisive subject in the Call of Duty community long before Black Ops 6. While the franchise has always been known for extremely fast TTK compared to many other FPS games, there are some who feel that it's a little too fast at times and prefer it when Operators have more health.

The Call of Duty games have experimented with different TTKs over the years. The 2022 Modern Warfare 2 game, for example, featured a pretty fast Time to Kill, whereas MW3's TTK is slower. Developer Treyarch has now confirmed what Call of Duty fans can expect from Black Ops 6's Time to Kill when the new game launches on October 25.

As explained by Treyarch, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Time to Kill will be faster than MW3, and will be more in-line with the TTK from the 2022 MW2. The developers explained that the game's TTK "has been fine-tuned" to "synergize" with new features like omnimovement and Black Ops 6's weapon balance, as the new game features 12 new weapons. Treyarch used Black Ops Cold War as an example, explaining that Black Ops 6 Time to Kill is faster than the TTK in that 2020 game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 TTK Explained

  • Faster than Black Ops Cold War, comparable to MW2 (2022)

There have always been disagreements about Call of Duty Time to Kill, and so it will be interesting to see how fans react to Black Ops 6 having a faster TTK than usual. Luckily, fans don't have to wait for Black Ops 6's release date to find out. As it so happens, the Black Ops 6 multiplayer beta is scheduled to start on August 30, available to anyone that pre-orders the game or those with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

The Black Ops 6 beta features six maps for players to battle it out on and should give fans a good idea of how multiplayer will work at launch. Now, while fans shouldn't expect any drastic changes to the game balance, there is always the possibility that Treyarch may tweak things like TTK based on fan feedback from the beta.

Of course, multiplayer is just one piece of the Black Ops 6 puzzle. At launch, Call of Duty fans will also be able to play through the game's single-player campaign and check out the co-op Zombies mode, ensuring that there should be plenty for fans to do once Black Ops 6 releases on October 25.

Forced to go rogue. Hunted from within. This is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. With a mind-bending narrative, and unbound by the rules of engagement, this is signature Black Ops.

The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.

In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.

Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
