Treyarch releases a new fix for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, addressing the recently discovered Gunsmith issue that has left the community frustrated. As a live service title, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is constantly updated with updates large and small.
Following a recent Call of DUty: Black Ops 6 update, players have noticed a strange issue happening when using the Gunsmith feature in multiplayer. While attempting to customize a weapon with a new optic sight, players have been frustrated by a bug that deselects the optic once the weapon has been edited again. Essentially, once the player attempts to edit the weapon again in Gunsmith, the previously selected optic would be removed completely, leaving the weapon with the default iron sights option.
Naturally, this issue Thankfully, the issue was quickly picked up by the developer and acknowledged the issue highlighted by the community. Part of the frustration was the timing of this, as players attempted to take advantage of the extended double XP weekend in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, but were slowed by having to ultimately adjust their loadout multiple times. In fact, this issue even extended to Blueprints, which forced players to reapply the blueprint to obtain the optic again..
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Fixes Gunsmith Optics Issue
As revealed within the Call of Duty Updates social account, the developer was quickly able to identify and then ultimately provide a hotfix for the issue impacting the optics attachments in Black Ops 6 Gunsmith. Naturally, feedback on the fix has been positive, with an obvious sigh of relief from the community over no longer having to constantly enter the Gunsmith to adjust weapon optics anymore.
This smaller update follows on the heels of a larger and more traditional update, one which largely provides weapon balancing in Black Ops 6. Recently, some players noted how certain weapons just couldn't keep up with assault rifles like the XM4. Associate director Matt Scronce indicated Black Ops 6 would be getting a weapon tuning update and, as it turns out, players didn't need to wait for the arrival of season 1 to see a much-needed boost to SMGs.
