The team for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies appears to have strongly hinted at the return of Double Tap, leading to a wave of hype within the game's community. The latest season of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has received mixed reception, and the game's player count has dipped, but it appears the team behind the title is starting to bring back fan favorites in a push to drive engagement back up. Most recently, this seems to include a classic Zombies perk.
Double Tap was hinted at within a Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 1 bundle. Players using the Repairman Operator noticed a charm on his belt that heavily resembled the logo used for the original Double Tap Perk. In addition to that clue, fans noticed that the Big Boomer skin on the Marine SP shotgun features the text "Double Tap" right above the weapon's foregrip. Now, there seem to be even more signs pointing towards the return of Double Tap.
6 Features That Need To Return To The Call Of Duty Franchise
Call of Duty has had its fair share of features throughout the years, but some definitely deserve to return in a future installment to the franchise.
In the March 26, 2025, episode of the COD POD, Activision's Stephanie Snowden seemingly confirmed that Double Tap is making its comeback in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies. In the community mailbag segment of the episode, a fan asks for a hint about the next perk coming to the game. Snowden responds, "You sure can, partner!" While wearing a cowboy hat and using a Southern accent. Many have interpreted this as confirmation that Double Tap may be joining the roster of Black Ops 6 Zombies perks. Double tap was last seen in 2015's Black Ops 3.
Double Tap Seemingly Confirmed for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies
Call of Duty players love Double Tap so much because of how useful it has consistently been in each title it's a part of. The perk boosts players' rate of fire, and in some games, upgraded versions of the perk have allowed players to shoot two bullets for the price of one. Because the utility of Double Tap is applicable in nearly every kind of situation a player can get themselves into, it's considered to be a part of the best perk loadouts in all of Call of Duty Zombies.
People feel certain that the perk Snowden has hinted at will be Double Tap, particularly because the cowboy hat and voice are reminiscent of the Western theming of Double Tap Root Beer. Others have pointed out that there are two other Western-associated perks: Tombstone and Mule Kick. However, in addition to the basic theme, many gamers have pointed out that the way Snowden says partner is evocative of the way the word is said in the song created to promote the fictional drink. After her hint, Snowden mentions that no matter what, players will find out what perk it is on March 27, 2025, so fans who are hyped for Black Ops 6 Zombies Season 3 may want to keep a lookout for an announcement.

Forced to go rogue. Hunted from within. This is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. With a mind-bending narrative, and unbound by the rules of engagement, this is signature Black Ops.
The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.
In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.
Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
