With the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, players are once again being whisked away on an espionage adventure within the Call of Duty universe. Not only does the campaign take them on an exciting new journey, but the multiplayer is such a blast to play. And if that was not enough, the popular round-based zombies mode is back with new maps, a new story, and some great new features that help set Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 apart from the crowd.

Of course, the biggest highlight of Black Ops 6's Zombies mode are the maps and story, but along with that comes a feature that may go unnoticed by some. Anyone that is planning to take on Zombies solo can actually pause, save, and load their games on a whim. That means that players are no longer forced to sit there for hours on end if they are having a great Zombies run, which is great to see. However, Treyarch should not have stopped there, and instead, it should have made that feature available to anyone fighting through hordes of zombies.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's Zombies Mode is the Strongest Yet

The Ability to Save Zombies' Runs is a Game-Changer

For years, Call of Duty players have been enjoying the franchise's round-based Zombies mode. Originally introduced in Call of Duty: World at War, the mode has been expanded upon immensely over the years and has become a staple of the Black Ops subseries. In recent years, it has even been added to other Call of Duty titles, making it a core part of the franchise's identity. But, through it all, players were actually never able to save their matches and pick them up again at a later date.

Since Zombies is round-based, players often challenge themselves to see just how long they can survive. As the rounds go on, the game gets harder, and only the bravest can survive. Because of this, sometimes games can last hours, but not everyone can devote that much time to a game in one sitting. So, while they used to have to cut their run short, Black Ops 6 has changed that for the better. Now, solo players have the option to pause, save, and then continue their runs when they have time. Although that may seem like a simple change, this change may be one of the most important for Zombies in a long time.

Black Ops 6's Save Feature is Far From Perfect

Now that players are able to save their matches and pick them up later, Black Ops 6's Zombies has become far more appealing for many. However, this feature is still lacking, as it is locked to solo matches only. That means that players who are fighting through these hordes with their friends are still forced to sit and play out the entire match or cut it short. Since the mode is extremely popular in co-op, this seems like a strange omission.

While it is great that Treyarch has finally added a save feature to Zombies, it really needs to take the concept further. Co-op players should not be forced to push through hordes of zombies without being able to pause and take a break. Zombies is meant to be played across long stretches of time, which is why saving feels like a must. The studio has already acknowledged that it makes a huge difference for some players, so it should offer it to every type of player.

Future Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 updates will likely expand Zombies mode with new maps and stories, and hopefully, it'll add saving for co-op games as well. But, if Treyarch cannot squeeze it into this title, then the next Call of Duty definitely needs to add it. Now that the feature is here, it has to become a core part of the mode so that everyone can experience Zombies without worrying about time.

Forced to go rogue. Hunted from within. This is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. With a mind-bending narrative, and unbound by the rules of engagement, this is signature Black Ops.

The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.

In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.

Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
