Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will reportedly start at $69.99, according to the latest information from a well-known industry insider. The same source leaked the purported U.S. And European prices of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7's Vault Edition.
While the base edition of Black Ops 6 launched at $69.99, there's lately been some speculation about the next installment potentially debuting at a higher price. This theory is largely tied to Microsoft's growing push for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which becomes a stronger value proposition as day-one releases grow more expensive.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7's Pre-Order Bonuses Are Already Obvious
Like other entries to the IP, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is expected to come with pre-order bonuses, with some particular benefits being very likely.
CoD: Black Ops 7 Won't Cost $80, Leaker Claims
Be that as it may, Black Ops 7 won't break any new ground in terms of pricing. That's according to Dealabs' Billbil-kun, who leaked the alleged price of the game's basic and Vault editions on August 17. According to their information, the basic edition will launch at $69.99, while the Vault Edition will retail for $99.99. In Europe, the two tiers are said to be priced at €79.99 and €109.99, respectively. The discrepancy between U.S. And European prices appears to reflect VAT being included in the latter, while U.S. Figures exclude sales tax. The leak thus indicates that Black Ops 7 will match Black Ops 6 pricing across both editions.
Rumored Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Edition Prices
- Standard Edition: $69.99 / €79.99
- Vault Edition: $99.99 / €109.99
The 2024 Call of Duty entry featured identical pricing across both consoles and PC, with its successor being expected to continue this pattern. Though the Vault Edition of Black Ops 7 has yet to be officially announced, Activision has a long track record of offering multiple Call of Duty game iterations at launch. The premium version of last year's shooter included the Hunters vs. Hunted Operator Pack, BlackCell Battle Pass Bundle, Mastercraft Weapon Collection, and the GobbleGum Pack. While some fans argued that the Vault Edition of Black Ops 6 wasn't worth the extra $30, this version of the game was still trending on multiple storefronts following the game's debut.
From a broader perspective, the backlash stemming from The Outer Worlds 2 being unveiled as the first $80 Xbox game back in June may deter Microsoft from repeating similar experiments in the immediate future. Obsidian's upcoming sci-fi RPG was permanently discounted by $10 in late July, likely after Microsoft concluded the higher price was weighing on pre-orders.
Black Ops 7 has yet to receive a full gameplay reveal or release date. Both could materialize during Gamescom 2025, which begins with a pre-show on August 19 and runs through August 24.
