Activision appears to have accidentally revealed a new map for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 ahead of schedule, as an updated roadmap briefly appeared on the game's website with a Christmas-themed version of Hijacked known as Sleighjacked. Map variants have become a popular tradition in Call of Duty games, and while Activision quickly removed any mention of Sleighjacked, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 fans likely have another map to look forward to for Season 1.
Hijacked will be just one of the many iconic Black Ops 2 maps set to return this year, as Activision has already confirmed that Nuketown will arrive in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 on November 20, less than one week after launch. Then, alongside the shooter's Season 1 update, which has yet to be given a firm release date, Standoff and Meltdown will also make a triumphant return. The latter of which hasn't been seen in a Call of Duty game for thirteen years now. But if that wasn't enough for players, it looks like a new Christmas-themed version of Hijacked is also on the way.
Activision Removes Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Pre-Order Bonus
In an unexpected announcement, Call of Duty publisher Activision confirms it has removed one of Black Ops 7's pre-order bonuses from the game.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Accidentally Reveals Hijacked Christmas Variant
As spotted by CharlieIntel, Call of Duty publisher Activision recently updated the Season 1 Roadmap for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 to include Sleighjacked, a Christmas-themed variation of Hijacked, which will be available at launch. However, just hours after the map was spotted by fans, it was removed, suggesting the publisher wasn't quite ready to reveal the information just yet. While a preview of the Season 1 Roadmap was shared by Activision earlier this year, a full breakdown of the game's first major content update is still to come.
In the build-up to Black Ops 7's release, developer Treyarch Studios has been revealing new information via short dev talk videos. The most recent one focused entirely on UI and progression, confirming that the popular Prestige Rewards will once again return for Black Ops 7. While many of the cosmetics still remain a mystery, the studio did give fans a look at the Operator Skin and Weapon Blueprint that is awarded to players for reaching Prestige 1. Plus, Treyarch also revealed the new HUD themes that can be equipped across all three game modes.
Recent rumors have suggested that Black Ops 7 will release earlier than its scheduled November 14 launch date, but Activision has since denied these claims. Initially, insiders suggested that the game would receive a new release date, but it was then claimed that players would be able to receive early access to the Campaign and Zombies by pre-ordering the Vault Edition. However, the game's publisher has now denied these claims and reaffirmed that Black Ops 7 will release on Friday, November 14, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
