How To Unlock The Cleaver in Black Ops 6

Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 1 is nearing its conclusion, but additional content is still pouring in for players to dive into. While those getting stuck into Season 1 may still be enjoying additions like the Citadelle Des Morts Zombies map and Area 99 Resurgence, others may be looking to try out a brand-new weapon.

While additions like the Krig C and the Saug Submachine are excellent for Season 1, melee-only players may be happy to learn that the Cleaver Melee Weapon has marked its debut. However, while many of the previous weapons are included with the Season 1 Battle Pass, unlocking the Cleaver requires a different method.

The Cleaver is a melee weapon tied to the free reward track of the Squid Game Event Pass for Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 1. To unlock the Cleaver, players will need to earn a total of 356,000 XP during the Squid Game Event's runtime. Upon doing so, the Cleaver will automatically be unlocked for players to equip in the Melee Slot of their loadout.

Alternatively, if players want to get their hands on the Cleaver right away, or simply want to get their hands on an additional variant of it, then players can unlock it by purchasing the Bloody Screams Bundle. The Bloody Screams Bundle is available for 1,200 COD Points and comes with Blueprint variants for the Cleaver, the Knife, and the Baseball Bat.

The Squid Game Event Pass is only available for a limited time and will become unavailable on January 24 at 10 AM PT. Once the Squid Game Event concludes, the Cleaver should move over to the Armory for those who have not unlocked it.

How Good Is The Cleaver?

As far as melee weapons go, the Cleaver is almost identical to the Knife, dishing out a one-hit kill to unarmored opponents in Black Ops 6 and Warzone. Players can use the melee weapon's primary attack with the Fire Button or perform a Heavy Attack with the Aim Button.

Whilst the primary attack will dispatch opponents fairly quickly, the heavy attack deals a little more damage for those facing armored opponents, and also performs a unique kill animation. Much like other melee weapons, players will also get a mobility boost whilst the Cleaver is equipped.
