Ammo Mods are back in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, giving players powerful tools to take down hordes of undead threats. Treyarch is pulling out all the stops with the return of the classic round-based Zombies mode, featuring new elements like a third-person perspective and the reappearance of fan-favorite features such as a dedicated playable character crew.
Among the returning features is the Ammo Mods system, originally introduced in Black Ops 4. Ammo Mods in Black Ops 6 Zombies are weapon modifiers that upgrade your ammunition, adding special effects to your bullets which prove highly effective for slaughtering large groups of the undead.

One Thing Will Make or Break Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies
A lot of pressure is being placed on the Zombies of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and one form of content will be key to making the mode a success.
All Ammo Mods In Black Ops 6 Zombies
Black Ops 6 will launch with five Ammo Mods, each providing a distinct effect.
- Brain Rot: Bullets deal toxic damage. Each bullet has the chance to turn a Normal or Special enemy into an ally.
- Cryo Freeze: Bullets deal frost damage. Each bullet has a chance to slow Normal or Special enemies.
- Dead Wire: Bullets deal electrical damage. Each bullet has a chance to stun any Normal and Special enemy, generating a field that deals electric damage to nearby enemies.
- Napalm Burst: Bullets deal fire damage. Each bullet has a chance to ignite Normal and Special enemies.
- Shadow Rift: Bullets deal shadow damage. Each bullet has a chance to spawn a black hole if striking Normal or Special enemies, warping nearby zombies away, and dropping some from the air at high speed.
Brain Rot, Cryo Freeze, Dead Wire, and Napalm Burst were featured in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies and Black Ops Cold War. The new addition, Shadow Rift, brings bonus shadow damage and has a unique ability to teleport enemies into the sky, temporarily removing them from the fight.
Additionally, each Ammo Mod has access to the new customizable Augments, a mechanic that boosts the Perks' effects even further.
How To Get Ammo Mods In Black Ops 6 Zombies
Ammo Mods in Black Ops 6 can be obtained by either purchasing them from the new Arsenal Machine with Salvage, the Zombies' in-game currency, or picking them up from the ground loot. However, the latter option presents rare drops, so you’ll likely be upgrading your weapons more frequently through the Arsenal Machine.
