The second tier of Operation Deadbolt missions in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombies will have players track down and destroy a convoy of armored vehicles and eliminate the enemy mercenaries guarding the convoy to acquire a mercenary stronghold keycard. Players will want to gear up their operator for a rough fight using schematics and acquisitions, as the convoy is heavily guarded and the AI soldiers defending the truck will put up heavy resistance against players. It is highly recommended that players squad up and acquire high-level vests and weaponry before attempting this mission.

Interceptor Mission Objectives

The Interceptor mission has two objectives that players will need to complete:

Destroy a Mercenary Convoy
Acquire a Mercenary Stronghold Keycard dropped by a mercenary convoy

Where to Find the Mercenary Convoy

Before searching for the convoy, players will want to acquire a vehicle, in case the convoy attempts to flee. Any vehicle will do, although players will have a bonus of movable cover by using an armored truck. Additionally, since the mercenaries use armored trucks, players can often temporarily remain undetected while near enemy mercenaries when in an armored truck, as the mercenaries will think players are also mercenaries.

Once in a vehicle, players will want to search for the convoy on the east side of the map in Urzikstan, near the Hamza Bazaar just south of the Hadiqa Farms place of interest. Keep an eye on the mini-map for three enemy trucks moving in unison, and once found, immediately move to high ground. If players can intercept the convoy right at the bazaar, there is a hill nearby that players can use for high ground and position the truck in the best position for the situation to use as cover.

Tips For Attacking the Convoy

When players find the convoy, the soldiers riding inside will be armored and equipped with sniper rifles and machine guns, so be ready for a fight. Players should consider putting a suppressor and a thermal mid-range sight on their insured weapon to help with stealth and target acquisition when engaging the mercenaries. If players do not have their insured weapon available, there is a hidden cache in the ground on the hill just south of where the convoy spawns, check this cache if possible as it has a high chance of giving players a long-range rifle.

If players use an armored truck to drive to the convoy location, it will give them a few extra seconds to get into position. Once players are detected by the convoy, the soldiers will exit the vehicles and begin firing, so players will need to get in position quickly and begin taking out the mercenaries. Since the mercs are not undead, aim for headshots that have the potential to instantly eliminate enemies not wearing helmets and rapidly reduce the enemy count - if players cannot rapidly gain control of the situation, the enemies in the convoy can quickly overwhelm and eliminate squads.

Once all enemies are eliminated, players will receive a banner across their HUD indicating an objective has been completed, similar to when an aether nest or encampment is cleared. Players can now begin searching the area where the mercenaries died to find the mercenary stronghold keycard. While players may have found mercenary stronghold keycards in other locations while exploring Urzikstan, players must acquire this specific keycard to complete the second objective for the Interceptor mission. Once the keycard is acquired, the mission will be complete and players will unlock the third tier of missions for Operation Deadbolt.
