The new Call of Duty bundle celebrating the release of Crash Team Rumble has been temporarily removed from the in-game store due to being falsely priced. Over the past several years Call of Duty and Warzone have become populated with many crossovers featuring popular movie characters, streamers, or fellow Activision properties like Crash Bandicoot. The Crash Bandicoot cosmetic Tracer Pack was revealed just a day ahead of Crash Team Rumble's release and contains a total of nine items, including three stickers and an emblem. The big ticket features of the pack are two weapon blueprints covered in Crash Team Rumble art, one for the Fennec 45 SMG and the other for the SP-X 80 sniper rifle. Additionally, the bundle gives players a Crash-themed ATV skin for use in Warzone, as well as a hilarious Wumpa skin for grenades.Call of Duty packs that don't contain character skins typically fall around the 1800 COD points range or lower. However, this Crash pack was incorrectly priced at a whopping 2400 points, costing players $25 to purchase, $5 shy of the price of Crash Team Rumble itself. Call of Duty took to Twitter to assure fans that the price was a mistake and that the pack will be temporarily unavailable while the price is corrected. Additionally, Call of Duty announced that 600 COD points will be refunded to players who bought the bundle at the incorrect 2400 point price.
As this has been unfolding there have been many confused fans who have been looking to purchase the bundle but are unable to find it. Many fans are still disgruntled at the correct price, as 1800 COD points equates to just under $20, an exorbitant amount of money for what's essentially two weapon blueprints and a vehicle skin. Some would say $25 for a Call of Duty character skin pack is also outrageous despite many of the skins being of high quality, especially the crossover skins featuring popular characters like TMNT's Shredder.
While it's great that big live service games in the modern era like Call of Duty offer so many cosmetic options to personalize characters and weapons, microtransactions in video games can be grueling for gamers, and they seem to be getting more expensive as prices for games themselves also rise. Fans who are eager to get their hands on the Crash- themed items in the bundle will have to wait a bit longer, as no ETA has been given for the pack's inevitable return to the Call of Duty store.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
