If players hate LMGs in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, then move on. The Sakin MG38 is the starting LMG and has the best range in its class combined with the worst handling and accuracy. The belt-fed LMG is already divisive in the community, the Sakin MG38 epitomizes why it's so loved and hated.
Getting the right build for the weapon is key to making it function. LMGs are in danger of being weaker assault rifles in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 without a few tweaks. Thankfully, the Sakin MG38 can be souped up right, giving players an edge over combatants who use a traditional assault rifle.

To make the most of this elite damage range, players are going to have to beef up the poor accuracy with attachments. This loadout will completely sacrifice aim down scope speed as players who use the Sakin MG38 over other LMGs will do so because they enjoy ambushing corners from a long-range, not running around and finding opponents.
The Kastovia DX90 is a good attachment even without the silencer factored in. Because this is an LMG, it's not usually considered stealthy and shouldn't be built entirely that way, but hiding shots on the mini-map is useful regardless. Fire some shots at a team of foes and then move before their next respawn.
Improve this even more by tuning the weapon to favor recoil, damage, and more range at the expense of aiming down sights, mobility, and anything to do with hipfire.
Secondary Weapon
- JOKR
Mobility is already down the drain with this build as it provides very little to benefit this backline weapon. This makes the Sakin MG38 user a perfect candidate for using a launcher to protect the squad. Few do it as well as the JOKR.
Complementing the primary weapon well, the JOKR also boasts a best-in-class range, particularly great for UAVs that may appear just out of range. After performing a prestige, weapons will reset, so remember to re-equip this when it gets unlocked the next time around.

Lethal Device |
C4 |
The game has some excellent and diverse maps, so it is important to choose gadgets that can be used in most situations. The Shock Stick is an escape tool, to be thrown at approaching enemies from short range that might have an advantage at this distance.
Not many builds make good use of the C4 as it can feel like something to babysit. But because the LMG is more active than a sniper rifle, it can defend two locations at once. Place C4 at one spot and aim the gun at another, covering two areas at the same time.

High Alert |
The best perks for this loadout focus on the gadgets. Being able to throw C4 further and precisely with Strong Arm enables the combatant to stay in safety while trapping a chokepoint. Resupply and Extra Tactical give players even more equipment as the match goes on, creating the potential for longer killstreaks.
To stay safe from snipers who edge out the Sakin MG38's range, High Alert will give players a moment to get to safety. This loadout has more deadly areas than the sniper rifle does since it also covers the mid-range just fine. This perk allows players to move to one of these more protected locations.

Tactical Insertion |
There are some top-notch field upgrades out there, don't feel bad grabbing some of the most effective choices. Deployable Cover is a smart choice for any stationary shooter. It's doubly as effective for LMG users who can use it in the open field or in hallways.
In a similar vein, with so many effective locations to shoot from, Tactical Insertion assures players they can spawn in their favorite spots. By shooting from one place and then appearing in another, the Sakin MG38 becomes impossible to pin down.

Wheelson-HS |
Ordinarily, it's not recommended to get any killstreaks besides the minimums, but the Sakin MG38 is unique. While it forfeits direct and open combat, it does score many kills from multiple directions, allowing it to get some of the more pricy options that assure victory.
Bomb Drone and Mortar Strike are lethal skills that also can be used to scare opponents away from one area and into the zone that the Sakin MG38 is covering. Wheelson-HS is a highly underrated reward that acts as a mobile turret, killing enemies indoors that the LMGs aren't in a position to take out.
Get the graphics settings just right and this build is unstoppable.
