A shocking clip from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has shown a player being killed by a fire extinguisher. Players can expect to die in many ways in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, but this would come as a surprise to even the most experienced of players.
It really seems as though gamers are always finding new and interesting ways to die in the game. One Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 player even managed to get themselves killed by a door, which seems impossible. Even though in the moment it's extremely frustrating to die like this, it definitely adds to the game's replayability to know that anything is possible. In a few weeks' time, these types of deaths are nothing but a funny memory for players to look back on and laugh at.
The clip from Redditor Vesqu is truly bizarre. It begins with them taking massive explosive damage, only surviving due to having Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's Bomb Squad Perk enabled. Unbeknownst to the player, the grenade has also knocked a fire extinguisher off the wall. It takes a moment, but it eventually explodes, removing whatever slither of health the player had left. The kill cam that plays afterward is hilarious, showing the player's death from the perspective of the fire extinguisher.
Gamers in the thread loved the clip, and were just as surprised as the player about the situation. One user even pondered how many kills that fire extinguisher has, claiming they would "love to see the stats for it." However, with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 stats still broken for players, Infinity Ward should definitely focus its efforts on ensuring that gamers are able to accurately see their own stats before an inanimate object's. It could certainly be a possibility, with another player in the thread comparing it to the "Traffic Cone" kill stat from Halo 3, from all the way back in 2007.
With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 taking the game in a strong direction, the future seems bright for Infinity Ward's latest effort. With reports suggesting that Call of Duty 2023 will be a continuation of the Modern Warfare series, there's a chance that players might be receiving content for the game long after most would usually expect. Nothing is officially confirmed, but it's approaching the time of year when Activision usually begins to discuss upcoming Call of Duty projects, so hopefully, gamers don't have too much longer to wait until they know how much longer the game will be fully supported.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
