Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's developer released a new update implementing many bug fixes and unexpectedly adding some issues. This is not a unique occurrence, as many developers have caused problems in their games after implementing a new update, but that does not make it better for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 players looking for a pleasant experience.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 received a new update on May 16, and it implemented a few changes and some weapon balance adjustments to the game. According to the update patch notes, the latest update to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 fixed issues regarding screen flickering, sudden client freezes, visual effects, weapon blueprints not working as they should, and more. The game's developer also made a few adjustments to some weapons. This update did not bring as many balance changes as the previous Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 update, so players do not have to make as many adjustments as last time.
Unfortunately, a Reddit user called Mactraxer shared a new issue they have been encountering since the latest Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 update went live. According to the Reddit post, after loading into a match, the player faces low frame rates, making it impossible to aim or go through the in-game menus. Unfortunately for other Call of Duty players, this Reddit user is not the only one experiencing this issue, as many gamers started sharing their experiences after the update went live. Many players are encountering bugs in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and some gamers are sharing their experiences online, so Reddit users should not be surprised if, in the next few weeks, they find another bug like this.
Reddit users have reported experiencing the same issue on other platforms while attempting to play different game modes, so it is safe to say the problem is not only present in a specific game mode. Mactraxer even stated they experienced the same problem while playing co-op, and many users are still complaining about the current state of the game and about the annoying bug hindering their Call of Duty matches.
Sadly, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 players will have to deal with this new bug until the game's developer addresses this new issue and implements a new fix. Recently, Call of Duty's developer has been busy as the Kevin Durant bundle was released a few days ago. Besides the previous update that implemented many bug fixes and changes to the game, chances are the developer may be working on a fix for this new issue.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
