Activision has released details, tactics, and tips for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's upcoming Season 3 map, Pelayo's Lighthouse. A wave of new information about Season 3 for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was recently shared, including plans for multiple new maps. Pelayo's Lighthouse is one of two 6v6 maps that should be arriving at the start of Season 3. To help built up excitement for the new map, Activision has provided an in-depth look at what Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 players can expect.Season 3 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is scheduled to launch on April 12 at 10:00 AM PT/1:00 PM ET. The Season 3 announcement has confirmed a wide variety of content planned to be released when the season launches and throughout. That includes a new BlackCell-themed battle pass, three new weapons, two new Operators, three 6v6 maps, two Battle Maps, the 2v2 Gunfight game mode's return, and much more. Since the new 6v6 maps for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 are understandably what players want to know more about, Activision has shared an in-depth look at Pelayo's Lighthouse. Activision describes the map as a "small, craggy island" featuring a massive lighthouse, bunker, boat landing, antenna station, helicopter pad, and a main complex. The result is a non-traditional Call of Duty map with less-defined lanes.
Each of the main areas in Pelayo's Lighthouse are said to offer unique combat scenarios. For example, the Boat Landing area of Pelayo's Lighthouse is said to offer open but uneven ground with surprising cover opportunities. The Helipad area offers high-risk, high-reward sight-lines into key areas of the map. And the Main Building of Pelayo's Lighthouse offers a multi-leveled complex with plenty of escape and flanking opportunities.
Tips for the new Pelayo's Lighthouse map include using Spotter Scope Tactical equipment to help track down enemy Operators that may be hiding in surprising positions, setting up traps with Cluster Mines and Sentry Guns to deny surprise attacks, applying the Birdseye Ultimate Perk to watch enemy movement, and even swimming to get into positions the enemy isn't prepared for. Pelayo's Lighthouse will give clever players lots of opportunities to trick opponents. But it also leaves players vulnerable in surprising ways.
Activision is only getting started breaking down all the content Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 players can expect in Season 3. Don't be surprised to see an in-depth look at Black Gold, Season 3's second launch 6v6 map, shared soon, too. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 players have a lot to look forward to with Season 3's launch on April 12.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
