Even more impressive is how it topped the year-end sales charts when released in late October, giving it only two months of the calendar year to achieve such a lofty honor. Modern Warfare 2 continues the story of the 2019 reboot of the Modern Warfare brand. The main campaign follows the multinational Task Force 141 and a Mexican Special Forces unit as they hunt Iranian terrorists in possession of American-made ballistic missiles.
Gamers interested in picking up the best-selling game of 2022 should head over to Steam before February 28 when the deep discount runs out. Normally retailing for $69.99 USD, the base edition of Modern Warfare 2 can be picked up for $45.49. That’s a 35% discount. The Vault Edition has received a 25% discount, which lowers the price from $99.99 to $74.99. The Vault Edition includes a Season 1 Battle Pass and 50 tear skips, a Red Team 141 Operator Pack, the FJX Cinder Weapon Vault, along with a slew of character skin packs.
According to IsThereAnyDeal, a video game retail price tracker, the current 35% discount on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the steepest deal the popular title has seen since its release – not just on Steam, but anywhere. The previous low was a drop to $59.49 directly from Activision Blizzard in the lead-up to Christmas 2022.
