The latest update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is here, bringing with it a few tweaks, changes to maps, and other alterations. The new patch includes updates for both Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone, directly addresses several issues affecting gameplay in Modern Warfare 3, and changes the way the revive system works in the CoD Warrior game mode.
Modern Warfare 3 is the latest iteration of the ongoing Call of Duty franchise, bringing players back into familiar territory. Acting as both a sequel to 2022's Modern Warfare 2 and as a reimagining of the iconic Modern Warfare 3 experience released back in 2011, Modern Warfare 3 brings quite a lot of new features to the table while still delivering the classic fast-paced FPS action the series is known for. Most notably, Modern Warfare 3 made significant changes to Call of Duty Zombies, launching a new storyline for players to uncover. Both Zombies and Modern Warfare 3's robust multiplayer modes are the targets of the game's most recent update, which solves several issues that have been hindering gameplay.
New Call of Duty Bundle Turns Modern Warfare 3 Operators Into Sock Puppets
The lively debate over Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's seemingly lighter tone continues as the game puts out a new Sock Puppet-themed tracer pack.
Modern Warfare 3 players will notice several changes to weapons in this new update. These tweaks include changes to the STG44 assault rifle, the RPK light machine gun, and the COR-45 handgun, which are just a handful of the many weapons featured in Modern Warfare 3. In addition, the map G3T_H1GH has also received a small update, with the dev team fixing an issue that prevented the Mosquito Drone from targeting enemy players.
Modern Warfare 3's unique Zombies mode has been updated, addressing an issue that caused the final player to exfil from a match to be queued into another match prior to them viewing the After Action Report. Modern Warfare 3's CoD Warrior game mode has also been tweaked, solving an issue that caused players to die immediately during the Revive! Mini-game. Players downed during the mini-game will no longer be warned for inactivity.
While things are still exciting for Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone players, fans are already looking ahead to the next Call of Duty release later this year, which will continue the long-running Black Ops franchise. Officially titled Black Ops 6, the next chapter in Treyarch's world-renewed Black Ops saga is poised to be a "return to form" for both Treyarch and Activision, bringing back several highly requested features and modes. The game's Zombies mode will see the biggest changes compared to the Modern Warfare 3 version, with Treyarch bringing back round-based maps in Black Ops 6, as well as a new, dedicated crew. Black Ops 6 is also set to have the most flexible multiplayer component yet, with developers teasing that the game will feature "omnidirectional movement," a first for the series.
