Call of Duty has had a Prestige system for decades, which will also be available in Modern Warfare 3. However, after reaching the maximum level cap, players will need some patience to Prestige in MW3.

The classic COD Prestige system allows players to reset their progress once they reach the maximum level in exchange for bragging rights and new emblems. Recently, COD devs have changed how this system works, and most players aren’t aware of these changes and how to grind Prestige levels. Here’s everything players need to know about the Prestige system in Modern Warfare 3.

Currently, Modern Warfare 3 doesn’t have a Prestige system. Prestige levels will become available once Season 1 of MW3 drops on December 6th. These dates are not confirmed yet, but we will update this article once they are.

How to Prestige in Modern Warfare 3

Modern Warfare 3 5 Prestige Ranks

Once Modern Warfare 3 adds the Prestige system, players must achieve rank 55 in the MW3 multiplayer to get the Prestige option. Players can pursue objectives, get kills, and complete matches to quickly rank up. After reaching level 55, they’re automatically rolled into Prestige levels, beginning with rank 56. Reaching the maximum level of 55 in the multiplayer earns players unique Prestige emblems to showcase their grind.

If Modern Warfare 3 follows Modern Warfare 2’s Prestige system, there will be 5 Prestige levels in Season 1. Each Prestige level will have 50 additional levels, while each Modern Warfare 3 season will have 5 Prestige levels. So, Season 1 will have 5 Prestige levels with 50 Levels in each, as shown below:

  • Prestige 1: Level 56 to 99
  • Prestige 2: Level 100 to 149
  • Prestige 3: Level 150 to 199
  • Prestige 4: Level 200 to 249
  • Prestige 5: Level 250

In previous COD titles, players who maxed the level cap to Prestige lost all their gear and equipment, but this will not be the case in Modern Warfare 3. The new Prestige system will allow players to keep all the gear they’ve earned and unlocked. This will eliminate the hassle of unlocking weapons and mastery camos again, which was a norm in previous COD games. This approach appears to be the new standard for the Call of Duty franchise, with the title allowing players to carry forward weapons from Modern Warfare 2 to Modern Warfare 3.
