Summary

  • Warhammer 40K-themed skins may be coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in Season 2, as revealed by a dataminer.
  • Previous leaks have also hinted at a Warhammer 40K event, with assets like loading screens and references to in-game bosses.
  • The leaked Space Marine skins could be equipped with the Juggernaut killstreaks, and a new game mode and unique bosses might be introduced as well.

A Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 dataminer has revealed Warhammer 40K-themed skins, which are possibly coming later in Season 2. A previous Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 leak unearthed plenty of details about the still unannounced crossover event.

Back in January, two other dataminers found evidence that a Warhammer 40K event is likely coming to Modern Warfare 3 soon. They found multiple Warhammer 40K-themed assets within the game's files, such as loading screens, medals that suggested a unique game mode, and references to in-game bosses. It's important to note that Call of Duty has still not announced its Warhammer 40K event, so it's possible that the event will not be launched for a while or not at all. However, a new leak indicates that it could be coming sooner rather than later.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Fans Are Divided Over The Stash House Multiplayer Map

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's Stash House map sparks debate among fans over its intense close-quarters combat and strategic depth.

Modern Warfare 3 dataminer TheOfficeCOD posted a video to their Twitter account that showcased Call of Duty's unreleased Warhammer 40K skins. The two skins portray Warhammer 40K Space Marines, known for their hulking appearance and wartime capabilities. Both skins have identical silhouettes with one being predominately blue in color while the other is predominately red. Space Marines are probably the most recognizable characters from the popular franchise, so it's not surprising that Call of Duty chose to feature them in its potential Warhammer 40K event. However, the skins are shockingly big, but there might be a good reason for that.

Details of Call of Duty's Potential Warhammer 40K Event

  • Features two Space Marine skins
  • Features Warhammer 40K-themed loading screens (and possibly additional Warhammer 40K-themed items) for players to unlock
  • Might feature a unique game mode
  • Might feature unique in-game bosses in a Multiplayer mode or Zombies

The dataminer also mentioned that the Space Marine skins were labeled in the files as "juggernaut," so it seems possible that the oversized skins will only be equipable when using one of the Juggernaut killstreaks. Call of Duty previously confirmed that the Juggermosh LTM will be made available later in Modern Warfare 3's Season 2, which sees all users play as Juggernauts from a third-person perspective. Call of Duty's post that covered the new mode mentioned that a new event will be launched alongside it, making a Warhammer 40K event seem likely. However, this is just speculation.

As for other future Call of Duty events, fans can look forward to Modern Warfare 3's The Walking Dead event, which begins on February 28. The crossover will feature 10 rewards for users to unlock by earning XP.

Call of Duty also recently introduced a new Hordepoint mode, which adds the Zombies mode's Hellhounds to the mix. In Hordepoint, two teams battle for Hardpoints while fighting off waves of undead.
