Summary
- A recent Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 update is causing split-screen issues.
- Some players are also experiencing game file deletions, requiring reinstallation.
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be released on Oct 25.
Multiple Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 players are having game-breaking issues while trying to play in split-screen after the recent update. This is an important week for the Call of Duty franchise, but these glitches may be very disappointing to players who expected more polish from the recent Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 update.
Call of Duty gained a huge update earlier this week, which aimed to improve the game’s user interface while preparing for the launch of the eagerly awaited Black Ops 6. While Call of Duty’s interface was overhauled by the update, the patch also seems to be causing some problems for gamers, who have been expressing their disappointment online.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Features Paid Audio Profiles
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 sparks controversy after players discover paid personalized audio profiles, but the optional feature is far from pay-to-win.
An example of the problems brought by the recent Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 update is that some gamers can’t play using split-screen. According to multiple social media posts, Call of Duty is constantly crashing while gamers try to play on split-screen with their friends or partners. Most of these gamers are unable to find a fix for the situation, as the game keeps crashing for some people even after restarting the console. Unfortunately, it seems that these game-breaking issues are occurring on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. At the time of this report, Activision did not officially acknowledge this issue, and it has yet to fix the glitch.
Multiple Players Are Unable to Play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in Split-Screen
The split-screen issue does not seem to be the only problem with the patch. Several Call of Duty players are angry with the recent update after it completely wiped their game files for Modern Warfare 3. In most cases, this problem forced the players to reinstall the files to play Warzone or the Zombies campaign.
In any case, the week is still an important time for Call of Duty players because of the release of Black Ops 6. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on October 25, marking the first time a game from the Call of Duty franchise is offered on day one for the service.
Lots of details about the upcoming Black Ops 6 have already been revealed, and one of the most recent ones is a pretty big departure when compared to Black Ops: Cold War. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will have a linear campaign with only a single ending. Several games in the Black Ops line have featured choices and multiple endings before, but it seems that the developers have ditched this element in the upcoming game.
