Activision and Infinity Ward answered many fan questions about this year's Call of Duty when the debut trailer for the game arrived a couple of weeks ago. Officially revealed as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, this reimaging of the classic 2008 game sees the return of fan favorite characters like Soap and Captain Price. The trailer itself placed a heavy focus on the campaign, though, as it was revealed today, not all of the footage was from the single player mode.

This week on the E3 2019 show floor, members of the Infinity Ward team admitted that the reveal trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare uses disguised multiplayer footage in certain portions where gameplay is shown. The team wouldn't specifically confirm where the multiplayer gameplay shows up, and, considering the different camera angles that developers get access to when making these trailers, the studio did a good job making it incredibly difficult to figure out.

In terms of being disguised, it's possible that some scenes have had their camera manipulated to create shots that look more cinematic than they usually do in multiplayer. There are a couple scenes in the trailer that don't feature Captain Price, nor do they appear to be story cutscenes, and these scenes could be the manipulated multiplayer footage. For example, there is footage of a nameless spec ops soldier walking through an open door, and there is also footage of a character entering a dark room of a house and all that is seen is the muzzle flashes when the weapon is fired.

Footage could be taken from certain killstreak rewards as well. To that end, there is a shot of a military jet performing a bombing run on a desert town and a very quick shot that features a camera perspective from a helicopter circling a small town.

While actual multiplayer footage hasn't been revealed in full as of yet, fans may not have to wait too much longer. Earlier this week, the Call of Duty Twitter account posted the first image from the multiplayer side of the game. The slightly animated image features a soldier, in a ghillie suit, with a sniper rifle that is also utilizing a ghillie style skin. The image also shows a bit of smoke coming out of the silencer, implying the the weapon was just fired. With all this multiplayer teasing, it's likely that fans could be getting their first look at the highly popular multiplayer modes sooner rather than later.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare  will be releasing October 25, 2019 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
