Summary
- Players criticize new Call of Duty skin based on Seth Rogen and cannabis culture.
- Negative reactions to the weed-themed content of High Art Event Pass.
Fans of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 are expressing their dissatisfaction with a new in-game skin based on Canadian comedian and actor Seth Rogen. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and other games in the franchise feature many celebrity tie-in content packs, and Rogen's is one of the latest to be added to the game.
Though Call of Duty's wider reputation casts it as something of a grounded, realistic military shooter, its players know that the Call of Duty experience can depart greatly from that core premise. From wilder sci-fi-inspired entries like Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare to recent crossovers like the one between Modern Warfare 3 and Mobile Suit Gundam, the franchise doesn't lack for decidedly "unrealistic" waves of content. The wide range of tastes the game caters to also seems to be paying off, as such content can be popular and spur purchases of the associated DLC for use in-game.
CoD Black Ops 6 & Warzone: How To Get Seth Rogen Operator
The popular Canadian comedian Seth Rogen arrives in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone. Here's how to unlock his Operator in both games.
However, not every new addition is a hit, and some players have aired complaints about the content associated with the new Call of Duty High Art Event Pass, specifically the Operator and skin based on Seth Rogen. In posts on Reddit, Twitter, and other social media networks, players expressed their dislike of the content's focus on Rogen, as well as on cannabis culture. Some said that the Black Ops 6 Seth Rogen operator had no funny voice clips and dialog. One player even argued that the High Art Event Pass content misrepresents Seth Rogen himself, because despite the actor's work across a variety of films and genres, the skin's "entire personality" is oriented around weed and weed jokes.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Players Complain About New Seth Rogen Skin and Weed Content
Despite releasing alongside Season 3 Reloaded on May 1, 2025, the High Art Event Pass and the Black Ops 6 Blaze of Glory event are all heavily themed around April 20th, or "4/20," the unofficial holiday celebrated by cannabis enthusiasts. In keeping with the motif, the playable Seth Rogen Fired Up Operator wears clothing covered in marijuana leaf designs. Rogen also appears as the host of the Blaze of Glory game show, dispensing rewards like calling cards, weapon charms, decals, and emotes, many of them weed-themed.
Reaction from players was roundly negative, with many complaining that the silly crossovers and celebrity tie-ins don't fit Call of Duty's military shooter origins, a complaint previously leveled against crossovers like the Warhammer 40,000 skins and the recent Black Ops 6 and Squid Game crossover. Regarding the Rogen skins specifically, some players did express their appreciation, calling Seth's laugh "hilarious" to hear when scoring kills. They mentioned Call of Duty's longstanding connection with stoner culture, and highlighted other stoner-oriented crossovers, like one with Clerks characters Jay and Silent Bob, and one featuring stoner comedy duo Cheech & Chong. They argued that more players should "lighten up," saying Call of Duty hasn't been serious in many years.

Forced to go rogue. Hunted from within. This is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. With a mind-bending narrative, and unbound by the rules of engagement, this is signature Black Ops.
The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.
In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.
Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
