- Treyarch Studios and Raven Software say the skin's visibility has been adjusted to ease target identification, but the change appears to be minimal.
Developers Raven Software and Treyarch Studios have adjusted the controversial T-800 Terminator Operator Skin in both Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty: Warzone, but fans are struggling to see a significant change. A new update for Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was deployed on April 8 that adjusted the visibility of the T-800 Operator to ease target identification, but many are blasting the change as a "joke" as there appears to be no difference in the skin.
Season 3 seems to have been a smash hit for both Raven Software and Treyarch Studios, as their respective titles continue to receive praise for the changes made with the latest content update. However, that's not to say there haven't been a few teething issues with the new season. Thankfully, both Black Ops 6 and Warzone have already received multiple updates in the first week of Season 3, with plenty of bug fixes and gameplay adjustments. The latest update came less than 24 hours ago, with changes to ground loot in Warzone, a new Ricochet anti-cheat feature, and a supposed nerf to the T-800 Terminator Operator Skin.
Call of Duty Fans Blast Terminator Skin Nerf
According to the official patch notes for the latest Call of Duty update, the T-800 Operator has "received a visibility adjustment to ease target identification." The change came after much of the community criticized the skin for being too dark in both Warzone and Black Ops 6, which was leading to visibility issues during gunfights. But while Raven Software and Treyarch Studios say they have adjusted the skin, many fans are failing to see the difference. Twitter user HunterTV quickly posted a comparison of the skin before and after the nerf, with no real change being visible. Players were quick to blast the change as a "joke," with some even calling for the Terminator skin to be revoked entirely from players and refunds issued.
Unfortunately, this isn't the first time that a Call of Duty Operator Skin has been at the center of controversy for its limited visibility, and it likely won't be the last. Back in the days of 2019's Modern Warfare, the Roze Operator Skin caused chaos in Warzone as the Operator was kitted out from head to toe in a completely blacked out outfit. Due to the limited visibility of the skin, it received multiple nerfs to increase its overall brightness. Sadly, another skin would become dubbed as "Roze 2.0" some years later with the launch of the Gaia Operator Skin in Modern Warfare 3, which many dubbed as "evil Groot."
As of writing, it's unclear if Treyarch and Raven intended to nerf the Terminator skin even further, but the two studios have been listening to fan feedback very closely following the launch of Call of Duty Season 3 earlier this month. While the new season is still less than a week old, multiple changes have already been made based on feedback from players. Numerous Marksman Rifles and Sniper Rifles have been removed from Warzone's ground loot, and armor plate distribution has been increased in the first week alone. Hopefully, with so many players jumping back into Verdansk, even more improvements continue to be made.
