The Gracey Auto features a lightning-fast shooting speed that feels more like an SMG in Call of Duty: Vanguard. There's a problem, though. Its firepower isn't normally enough to bring anybody down in one shot and it gets outperformed by SMGs up close.
So what is the solution? Actually, with the burst and rate of fire, it's better suited to mid-range combat as it has better stopping power than most of the assault rifles that usually engage in these fights. It's got suppression for support and strength to kill, one of the deadliest combinations in all of Call of Duty: Vanguard.
Operator
- Any
Tough news for anybody looking for a fast and easy way to get extra experience on the Gracey Auto; no operator lists it as their favorite weapon. This would ordinarily give the gun and the operator a boost to experience for each other.
The good news is that anybody who has gotten to work unlocking all of the operators will be able to choose their favorite without worrying about missing out. The extra experience would be nice, but at max level, it's all the same on any operator anyhow.

The Gracey Auto doesn't make an initially great impression, even when compared to the starting weapons that come automatically unlocked, but this improves with time. The best aspect of this gun is the firing speed, which doesn't get the attention it often deserves.
This does mean sacrificing some stats for recoil, accuracy, and damage. The idea is to be able to kill a mid-range assault rifle faster than it can kill the user of the Gracey Auto. With these attachments, that shouldn't be a problem.
Secondary Weapon
- M1 Bazooka
It would have been amazing to have access to the M1 Bazooka while completing the "Ticket Please" achievement but better late than never. This build is all about support, so even if a Spy Plane isn't all that damaging, blowing it out of the sky for a teammate is the kind thing to do.
It can also help out with vehicles on the ground. These machines can easily wipe out a squad that stays tight and most players on the field don't usually have launchers. Having a launcher will help the team and net the Gracey Auto loadout some easy points.
Perks
|
Perk 1 |
Fortified |
|
Perk 2 |
Piercing Vision |
|
Perk 3 |
Tactician |
Perks will vary in effectiveness depending on which of the quality maps the game takes place on, but these three all contend for a prominent place in the loadout. Fortified is vastly underrated for mid-range combatants since grenades and launchers almost exclusively target mid-range targets.
Since suppression is key to the build, Piercing Vision helps locate players that dive for cover after taking a few shots. Fitting with the theme of the support build, Tactician gives gamers an extra tool to turn the tides of every fight they engage in.
Lethal Slot
- MK2 Frag Grenade
With a tip of the cap to the Piercing Vision perk, players will be able to see enemies that dive into cover. Those that survive won't be able to regenerate their health due to the Frangible ammunition. To finish them off, cook a grenade and bounce it toward them.
It's just as fun in multiplayer as it is during the number of campaign missions that feature grenades. The Gracey Auto is strong, but quick reactions might prevent opponents from dying. This weapon is a perfect final blow.
Tactical Slot
- MK V Gas
The Tactician perk assures that the player will have an MK V Gas grenade ready to go during every regular fight. This is a massive difference-maker. Enemies are blurred, slowed, and much easier to kill when stepping into the toxic cloud.
It also detonates instantly when hitting the ground, so there is no timing to worry about. The Gracey Auto has the stopping power to bring down anyone that gets caught in the blast so long as those outside the radius do not interfere.
Killstreaks
- Intel
- Care Package
- Mortar Barrage
Keeping the killstreak rewards cheap is important because, like most mid-range fighters, survival is hardly guaranteed. This loadout is extremely well equipped to deal with encounters like this, but it doesn't always get the kill and an unlucky headshot can stop a hot streak.
Care Package is one of the best killstreaks for anyone, yielding over a 92% chance to give a killstreak of equal or greater value to the four kills it takes to get the Care Package. And Mortar Barrage is phenomenal for driving enemies off of the backlines and toward the mid-range, where the Gracey Auto is waiting for them.
Field Upgrade
- Supply Box
Yes, the support capabilities at this point are excessive, but the Supply Box is not just for allies. The Gracey Auto races through ammunition and, even with the Fully Loaded kit selection, players are going to want more ammunition so they can continually fire.
The cooldown is nice and low, meaning players should feel free to lay down suppressing fire without too much worry about the magazines left in the tank. This is all gravy on top of the main purpose of giving allies a font of ammunition that they, too, can take advantage of.
Call of Duty: Vanguard was released on November 5th, 2021, and is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
