Warzone's DMZ mode consists of various faction missions for players to complete to progress in the game, such as the Zero Tolerance Faction Mission and the Fuel Shortage Mission. The Fuel Shortage Mission is part of the Tier 1 challenge, which requires players to siphon gas. This newly added feature in Warzone's DMZ mode has left many fans confused and stranded in this faction.
Although siphoning fuel is relatively easy, DMZ’s siphon mission can be complex since it requires strategic execution and planning. The assignment tasks players to take fuel from parked boats and cars to ensure they never run out of it.
Warzone 2 DMZ: How to Complete the Non-Discriminatory Faction Mission
The Non-Discriminatory mission in Warzone 2 DMZ is a search-and-destroy job that's a little more complicated than it seems.
How to Siphon Gas in DMZ Mode
The Warzone 2 Season 4 Fuel Shortage Mission has two main objectives:
- Siphon gas from a vehicle on Ashika Island.
- Use the gas can to refuel a car.
To complete the mission, players must first find a gas can in Warzone 2 maps, such as the new Vondel map, Ashika Island, and Al Mazrah. Check any of these maps for gas stations (they’re marked with a fuel pump icon) and head over to find a gas can. Upon collecting the gas can, players should place it in a backpack and locate a parked vehicle or boat on Ashika Island. It can be any vehicle, including an ATV, land vehicle, or jet ski, as long as it’s driveable.
After locating the car, players can hop on it to board but shouldn't start driving. Instead, they should open the backpack and select the gas can to prompt a menu on-screen. Select the “siphon gas” button from the menu to start siphoning fuel from the car to the gas can. The button may vary depending on the platform being used to play Warzone or the keybind settings on the PC, but PlayStation players can click R3, while Xbox users can press RS.
Once players press the siphon gas button, the process is pretty much done, and the first objective is complete. If the button doesn’t work when pressed, the gas can is likely already full. In this case, players must use another empty gas can to siphon the fuel.
To complete the second objective, players must transfer the siphoned fuel to another vehicle. Some players report completing this challenge by refueling the same car, but this hasn’t worked for most. To guarantee the objective's completion, players should locate another vehicle in Ashika Island, drive it around to use its fuel up, and then refuel it using the gas can. An essential Ashika Island tip is to siphon gas in the quieter roads to avoid running into opponents when completing the fuel shortage mission.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
