Summary
- The Call of Duty: Warzone developers have restricted the COR-45 handgun, likely due to issues with the weapon.
- Attachment and blueprint glitches caused the COR-45 handgun to become an overpowered, fast-firing SMG.
- Players aren't happy due to the weapon's restriction seemingly being prioritized over Warzone's cheating problems.
The Call of Duty: Warzone developers have restricted the use of the popular COR-45 handgun, and the community doesn't appear to be happy with this decision. The handgun has been one of the most dominant weapons in the meta of Call of Duty: Warzone during Season 1, thanks to certain attachments and blueprints.
Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 1 Reloaded launched on Thursday, December 5 with a slew of new weapons, modes, and gear for both games. Season 1 Reloaded also saw the launch of various holiday-themed events and modes, including Holiday Rush Quads and Slay Ride Resurgence in Warzone. While playing Warzone, players can also earn Jolly Archies to earn exclusive gear and cosmetics during the Archie’s Festival Frenzy event as well. However, the meta has not been perfect in Season 1 Reloaded, as the COR-45 handgun has run rampant as one of the most powerful and popular weapons to use.
Black Ops 6 & Warzone: All Archie’s Festival Frenzy Event Rewards
Archie’s Festival Frenzy makes its debut in Black Ops 6 and Warzone, allowing players to acquire a wide range of holiday-themed exclusive rewards.
The COR-45 handgun has been restricted in Warzone until further notice, according to the official Call of Duty Updates Twitter account. This means that the secondary weapon is no longer usable in Warzone, and it's unclear when it's set to return. This decision was likely made due to the weapon's overpowered state in the current meta and glitches involved with the Cork and Screw blueprint and the XRK IP-V2 Conversion Kit. Removing attachments from the blueprint and applying the XRK Tactical Stock would turn the COR-45 into a fast-firing and high-damaging SMG, allowing it to counter some of Warzone's best weapons with a fast time-to-kill (TTK). As a result, the weapon has been restricted while the developers work on a potential fix.
Call of Duty: Warzone Developers Restrict the COR-45 Handgun for the Foreseeable Future
Although the restriction evens the playing field in Warzone, many players on Twitter aren't happy about Raven Software prioritizing this issue at the moment. Some players are unhappy about how developers have handled the COR-45 handgun earlier in the year, and many others are upset about Black Ops 6 and Warzone's growing cheating problem. A few players appear to express concern that the Warzone developers are working during the holiday season as well.
A similar glitch previously affected the COR-45's XRK IP-V2 Conversion Kit in August 2024. At that time, a glitch allowed players to wield the COR-45 handgun with the akimbo attachment and Conversion Kit simultaneously, giving the handgun one of the fastest TTKs in Warzone ever. A bug fix patch was applied shortly after word of the glitch reached the Warzone developers, since the glitch went viral on social media.
