Call of Duty: Warzone’s Appalachia Debut: Haven’s Hollow Leads Season 01

Continuing this trend, Activision has now unveiled another Resurgence map in the form of Haven's Hollow, announced during the September 30 Call of Duty: Next event. Located in the heart of Appalachia, the map features five points of interest with plenty of smaller structures constrained to three to four stories. It boasts bright and colorful visuals and is described as being on the smaller side, even for a Resurgence map. More specifically, an Activision representative described it as smaller than Fortune's Keep. Haven's Hollow will debut in the upcoming Season 01.

COD: Warzone Is Updating Verdansk

Call of Duty: Warzone's evergreen Verdansk map is also getting remixed as part of the upcoming season, and will be updated with two points of interest. One of them is a brand-new addition called the Signal Station, described as having "a massive control room and the new Tactical Heat Map feature." The other is a fresh take on the Factory, which Activision says has been remastered, though it has yet to share any details on the changes. These updates signal that Verdansk will be sticking around in Warzone for a while yet.

COD: Warzone Announces Movement Overhaul

Activision also announced some changes to the game's movement, which is getting a bespoke tune: Call of Duty: Warzone's default Tac Sprint is being removed, the baseline sprint speed is getting an increase, and a new Combat Roll will become available via the Mountaineer Perk. While these tweaks might appear significant to longtime players, Activision says its developers are prioritizing delivering a combat experience that still feels "familiar."

Season 01 promises to reset the meta with wider build diversity, perk and equipment refreshes, and Phantom Signal, a new Warzone-exclusive Tactical. It will also introduce quality-of-life features such as weapon build sharing, while retaining fixes from earlier seasons—a point Activision is emphasizing in light of recent issues. Meanwhile, fans of high-skill grinding will get new Call of Duty: Warzone Mastery camos, as well as a full-fledged camo track to progress through. Season 01 will launch following the November 14 arrival of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
