Some Call of Duty: Warzone fans believe they have found evidence that Rebirth Island will return in Season 3. Call of Duty: Warzone Season 3 is expected to launch two months from now in early April.
Back in October, Call of Duty announced that Fortune's Keep and Rebirth Island would return to Warzone in 2024. Fortune's Keep was recently added with Call of Duty's Season 2 update. However, Call of Duty has kept Rebirth Island's release date close to its chest, only explaining that it would arrive "later in 2024." Activision is providing gamers with an opportunity to test out some of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3's most popular content for free for a short time.
Following the Season 2 update, Warzone dataminers found numerous references to Rebirth Island within the game's files. The file names include "s3_rebirth," which seems to suggest that Rebirth Island will return in Warzone Season 3. However, this is only speculation at this point and fans should exercise caution until Rebirth Island's release date is officially confirmed. Rebirth Island was the second map added to Warzone after Verdansk and took place on a small island based on Alcatraz.
Rebirth Island Could Be Returning to Warzone in Season 3
- Dataminers found numerous files named "s3_rebirth"
- "S3" and "rebirth" could reference things other than Season 3 and Rebirth Island, so users should exercise caution for now
- Warzone Season 3 is expected to launch in early April
Rebirth Island balanced its small size with a reduced player count that allowed for fast-paced action that wasn't too chaotic or overwhelming. It seems likely that Rebirth Island will utilize Warzone's Resurgence mode, similar to Fortune's Keep, and may join the other small map in Warzone's new Ranked Resurgence mode.
Now that Call of Duty's Season 2 has launched, Warzone fans can drop into the revamped Fortune's Keep, which now features new and redesigned POIs. Warzone's Fortune's Keep also features a new secret vault for players to discover. Call of Duty previously hinted that the vault might be linked to the Keep POI's throne room, but fans are still working to uncover the secret area. It's possible that the vault contains valuable loot, such as Warzone's new Wonder Weapons or Zombies Power Ups, which were added as part of the Season 2 update.
Call of Duty also confirmed that the PDS field upgrade will return to Warzone later in Season 2. The PDS was removed in 2022 and allowed users to become invulnerable to gas for a short period of time. The field upgrade created some interesting playmaking opportunities that Warzone fans are excited to utilize again. Another confirmed Warzone addition coming in the future is the Research Vessel POI on Fortune's Keep, which will be a large ship that will float off of the island's coast.
