The launch of Call of Duty: Warzone Season 4 has drawn interest from the battle royale community with the introduction of The Overlook, a towering new Point of Interest (POI) in Verdansk. Just a few days ago, Activision confirmed that the season would kick off on May 29, followed by a full breakdown of patch notes detailing the new content, modes, and gameplay tweaks coming with the Warzone update.
Among the bigger gameplay additions is the return of Clash Mode, a 52v52 team deathmatch that takes place across familiar POIs like Quarry and Promenade. Later in Call of Duty: Warzone Season 4, players will also get Havoc Royale, a limited-time mode for quads that brings shifting gas circle modifiers, requiring squads to adjust their tactics. On top of that, new gear and systems are being added, including the Care Package Killstreak for rare loot, the Loot Master Perk for better cache rewards, and an update to Search and Destroy Contracts - which are now rolling out across Battle Royale, Resurgence, and Plunder modes.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 4 is Live Now
Call of Duty officially rolls out the highly anticipated Season 4 update for Black Ops 6 and Warzone, adding tons of new content to both titles.
The biggest highlight of Season 4 is The Overlook. This massive structure is now the tallest building in Call of Duty: Warzone's Verdansk, more than double the height of anything else on the map. It replaces previous landmarks like Burger Town and adds a new layer of vertical gameplay. Players will find ziplines, working cranes, a skydeck, and a penthouse packed into the tower. Since the Season 4 update went live, players have flocked to The Overlook, as evidenced by a CharlieINTEL post on Twitter captioned, “Entire lobbies are landing on the new Overlook.” Accompanying footage shows several players parachuting onto the skyscraper, with midair fights breaking out as everyone scrambles to land first.
The Overlook in Warzone Season 4 Wins Over Fans
Many players in the comment section expressed excitement about the changes, with one saying, “Can’t wait to play this evening!” And another calling the new POI “interesting.” However, some also voiced concerns that the location might attract campers due to its layout. Still, the strong player response isn’t surprising - The Overlook was widely expected to be one of Warzone’s most action-packed additions yet.
Still, not everything has gone smoothly. Warzone's Ranked Play didn’t launch on time due to performance issues the developers are currently looking into, which caused frustration among players, especially after past problems with the mode. Raven Software also removed Solos from the Battle Royale playlist, a decision that didn’t sit well with fans. The developers say they’re paying close attention to community feedback. So, while Season 4 has brought some exciting changes, there are still a few things players hope will be addressed soon.
