Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 is now here, and with that, a variety of fresh content and tweaks to the game. A lot of players have been anticipating Season 5, as it brings a brand-new Battle Pass, plus the arrival of some fresh weapons. When it comes to Call of Duty: Warzone, one's loadout is of the upmost importance, so these new weapons can easily shake up the game's meta.
However, when it comes to overall versatility and power, the strongest options in Season 5 are still guns that have already been part of the game for a little while now. Of course, Season 5's new weapons have their own unique strengths, but it looks like the GPR 91 and C9 reign supreme.
Call of Duty: Warzone's Season 5 Meta is All About the GPR 91 and C9
C9 Taking the SMG Crown From the LC10, While the GPR is Still King
Granted, the LC10 is still a strong SMG in Warzone, but it has received a bit of a nerf this season. Range has been decreased across the board, so it's still a solid choice for close-quarters combat, but the C9 looks to be a more diverse option this time around. The C9's damage has remained unchanged, but the range has been increased for its Maximum Damage Range and Medium Damage Range. Season 5 brings a variety of changes, and the C9 introduces a fun shake-up to what ranks as the best SMG.
- Maximum Damage Range - increased by 13.97m
- Medium Damage Range - increased by 13.97m
Ever since being added to Warzone, the GPR 91has maintained a strong lead as one of the best assault rifle options in the game. That continues this season, so for players who are curious about one of the best mid-to-long-range options, sticking with the GPR 91 is still a really solid choice.
These two weapons can be customized in a variety of ways, but when it comes to the best possible choices, there are specific loadouts that Warzone players will want to try out for Season 5 in order to experience the C9 and the GPR 91 to their fullest.
C9 Loadout Option

- Rear Grip: Ergonomic Grip
GPR 91 Loadout Option

- Barrel: Reinforced Barrel

- Underbarrel: G-Grip
- Magazine: Extended Mag I
Season 5 of Call of Duty: Warzone Brings Fresh Content Ahead of Black Ops 7
Activision still has yet to reveal a release date for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
As the wait for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 continues, Warzone's Season 5 can hopefully hold players over for a while until the next Black Ops entry arrives. With Black Ops 7 taking the series into the future in the year 2035, it will be fascinating to see how this time jump is handled. SInce Black Ops 6 was centered around the Gulf War in the 90s, Black Ops 7's near-future change of pace is bound to offer a wildly different experience with its weapons roster.
Black Ops 7 stars actors Milo Ventimiglia, Kiernan Shipka, and Michael Rooker.
Only time will tell when Activision is ready to reveal Black Ops 7's release date, but after the company made a point of featuring it as a surprise finale during June's Xbox Games Showcase, one would think there would be an incentive to announce a launch target as soon as possible, especially with the hype surrounding competitor Battlefield 6. Regardless, the vastly different setting compared to its predecessor is compelling, and while players eagerly wait for the next entry in the series, Warzone and Black Ops 6 offer ways to still scratch that FPS itch.
