Developer Raven Software has released a new update for Call of Duty: Warzone that aims to address the hitching and stuttering issues introduced with the shooter's big Season 4 update. The latest season of Call of Duty: Warzone introduced plenty of new content to the free-to-play title. However, many players were left disappointed as the game was made practically unplayable due to a myriad of stability issues.

Although a new entry in the series is expected to launch later this year, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 continues to receive a steady stream of new content as part of the shooter's seasonal updates. The most recent update, Season 4, came on May 29, adding new Multiplayer maps, weapons, game modes, a fresh Battle Pass, and more to Treyarch Studios' sixth Black Ops game. It also added plenty of new content to Call of Duty: Warzone, with the biggest addition being a new POI: The Overlook. This massive new skyscraper is right in the heart of Downtown, and is the tallest building ever to be added to Verdansk.

New Warzone Update Addresses Season 4 Stuttering Issue

Unfortunately, Season 4 has been a huge disappointment for much of the community, with many blasting the latest Call of Duty season as a "dumpster fire." While some have encountered crashes and numerous other bugs since Season 4 was released, the main issue plaguing the game has been the constant stuttering and lagging while in Warzone matches. Thankfully, Raven Software has now released a brand-new update that should address this issue for most players. According to the official Call of Duty Updates Twitter account, the latest patch, which was deployed on May 30, has "mitigated the performance issues that were causing hitching and stuttering."

Fans will be pleased to see the issue addressed so promptly, but it's sadly not the only problem players have with Season 4. While it wasn't mentioned in the official patch notes, the update made a massively controversial change to player loadouts in Black Ops 6 and Warzone. Now, whenever players visit Create a Class, they will be presented with advertisements for various store bundles, which many have called "shameless" and "greedy."

Season 4 also saw the unexpected removal of Battle Royale Solos from Call of Duty: Warzone, yet another massively controversial decision that has gone down like a lead balloon with the community. The popular mode has been replaced with Battle Royale Casual Solos, which features a mix of real-life players and bots. This means that anyone looking to play alone is now being forced to jump into lobbies filled with bots. According to Raven Software, this change has been made to keep playlist options "focused and manageable." The studio has also said it will be monitoring player feedback over the coming weeks, which means there is a slight possibility that the change is reverted later down the line.
