Smixie's opinions stem from her recent conversations with Warzone's developers. Although some fans were disappointed to find out that the approaching Warzone Season 1 update will feature a 100-player limit on the new Urzikstan map, the decision seems to be justified.

Following the decision in August to reduce the player count on Warzone's previous map, Al Mazrah, from 150 to 100 players, fans were hoping for a return to the higher player cap. However, Urzikstan is about 20% smaller than Al Mazrah, so although many fans enjoy a faster-paced style within Warzone, this may have proved to be too hectic.

These changes should foster a sufficient pace on Urzikstan, despite its smaller player count. Smixie further details that Warzone's development team is always open to changes, suggesting that if the community widely dislikes Urzikstan's player count as time goes on, changes will likely be made.

Many Warzone fans voiced their displeasure regarding this player-limit announcement. Warzone has earned its reputation as being one of the better battle royales on the market. It has become known as a particularly fast-paced, aggressive take on the genre that attracts players who prefer plenty of action. This style will likely still exist on Urzikstan, despite some players' wishes for a 150-player lobby size.

Modern Warfare 3 owners have already been playing the new Urzikstan map through the game's Zombies mode. Urzikstan features an assortment of urban and rural settings, which are connected by a ring-shaped highway that spans most of the map. Despite its smaller size relative to Al Mazrah, it certainly doesn't feel that way, as Urzikstan offers a plethora of unique battlegrounds for players to navigate.

Warzone Season 1 releases on December 6 alongside Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's Season 1 update. In addition to the new Urzikstan map, Warzone will receive a new gulag, new gameplay mechanics, and various quality-of-life improvements. And for fans of Modern Warfare 3's more traditional 6v6 multiplayer, it will receive three new maps, the fan-favorite Gunfight mode, new killstreaks, and more come December 6.
