An update for PEAK was released on July 29, 2025, dubbed Patch v1.10.a, and it brought along a couple of totally normal things, such as Turkish and Polish translations, to give even more PC players the chance to get some time with the indie climbing-survival game. Of course, there are general performance fixes and microphone cleanup; crashes are going to be less frequent.
However, the most important thing that comes with this update for PEAK (and arguably the weirdest) is cannibalism. Yes, we said it: Cannibalism. With this being an option in PEAK, it means you can actually chomp on your climbing mates if you get really hungry. Here's how it works.
There has been some discussion online about a new Accolade being added to PEAK that you can attain by eating your friend, but I played with a fellow writer, and they ate me and didn't get a new achievement.
How to Fix PEAK Voice Chat Not Working Issue
Some players have been experiencing issues with the Peak voice chat as it's not working for them, here are all the fixes to resolve this problem.
How Does Cannibalism in PEAK Work?
Mmmm, Tasty
As you might be able to see in the images above, the only way to eat another player in PEAK is if your hunger meter takes over the majority of your health bar. Once you reach about 70% Hunger, your teammates will start to look like delicious fried chicken, and you can eat them by holding the button that appears when you get close to them.
If you decide to eat your friends (terrible), you'll recover a lot of Stamina, but it comes at a price. First of all, your teammate will obviously die, turning into a skeleton and, subsequently, a ghost. You can revive them by using a special Scout Effigy item or going to the statue at the top of each biome at camp.
An update to PEAK on August 1 gives players the option to toggle off the Cannibalism mechanic in the main menu.
The second bad thing that'll happen to you if you eat your mate is that you will be inflicted with a little bit of the Curse status effect. This will suck up space from your Stamina bar, and you can get rid of it by either finding a Pandora's Lunchbox or using a Cure-All.
For the lunchbox, it has a random effect, so it's not guaranteed to lift the Curse from your person, but it can help sometimes.
