Last we had seen Castlevania: Lords of Shadow protagonist Gabriel Belmont he had just battled his way through wave after wave of unsightly supernatural creatures only to become the one thing he hates the most: a vampire. More than that, though, an epilogue to the game revealed that he had become THE   vampire, Dracula.

Now, in the second trailer for the game's sequel, Lords of Shadow 2, gamers are reintroduced to Belmont/Dracula, who wakes up from what must have been quite the slumber. As the character (voiced by Once Upon a Time's Robert Carlyle) narrates, gamers see brief glimpses of Belmont's past, and provided some very quick looks at the actual game in action.

Unfortunately, those brief looks at the gameplay don't look all that different from what was on display in the first game -- meaning Lords of Shadow 2 will still primarily be a button mashing, hack-and-slash title in the vein of God of War.

And what about thefirst CG trailer? The one that suggestedLords of Shadow 2might feature some sort of co-op element -- potentially withCastlevaniafan-favorite character Alucard as a playable character. Seems like that detail will have to be addressed in a later trailer.
