Tak the Yak is the first Unique Monster that Chained Echoes players encounter north of Farnsport. As its name suggests, it’s a yak-looking Beast-Type creature with four physical attacks.

However, despite its basic move set, Tak could be a tough Yak to crack, especially for beginner Chained Echoes players. If that’s the case, players can use this strategy guide to beat him quickly.

Where to Find Tak the Yak in Chained Echoes

When in Rohlan Fields for the first time, players should head north of Farnsport to find Tak the Yak near the Fast-Travel Crystal. There, a giant white creature can be found sitting in a flower field, but players should avoid getting too close unless they want to fight him.

How to Beat Tak the Yak in Chained Echoes

Since Tak the Yak is a Beast-Type Monster with no weaknesses, players should aim to beat him with a combination of magical and physical attacks. They can use Leg Aim and Armor Break to debuff him and exploit Lenne’s Fire Thrust to drain his HP.

For the deadliest effect:

Have a support character with the “Heal All” skill in the Formation.
Debuff Tak’s attack power and agility early in the fight.
Switch between characters to avoid Overheating.
Keep a few Sage items handy to remove Tak’s Paralyze.

Tak’s total HP is 2,400, so with an average DPS of 70, it takes about 34 moves to defeat him. This, of course, could differ for players with above or below-average levels.
