Chainsaw Man is, without a doubt, one of the weirdest, most creative and most distinctive action shōnen series currently on the market, which is why it has managed to gain such a massive following over the last few years. The fascinating creativity of this manga is perfectly reflected in the dual protagonists of its second part: Asa Mitaka and the War Devil, AKA Yoru.
The signature ability of the War Devil is Weapon Creation, which allows both Asa and Yoru to turn anything (objects, body parts and even other people) into weapons, as long as they believe it belongs to them. Naturally, this is a weird but fun power for a main character to have, and it has resulted in the birth of multiple weapons, with the following eight being the absolute strongest ones this chaotic duo has created so far.
Tanaka Spinal Cord Sword
The First Weapon Yoru Made With Her Power
- Debut: Bird and War (Chapter 98)
Shortly after taking control of Asa’s body, Yoru used her Weapon Creation ability to turn Mr. Tanaka – her class' abusive and perverted teacher who was sleeping with one of his students – into a living weapon, and it was incredibly satisfying. This resulted in the creation of the Tanaka Spinal Cord Sword, which Yoru then wielded against the class president who had killed Asa a few minutes ago.
This was the first real showcase of Yoru’s immense power, and it certainly didn’t disappoint. The Tanaka Spinal Cord Sword not only looks disgusting, but it was also able to pierce through the class president’s tough demonic skin (which had been enhanced by her contract with the Justice Devil) with ease.

The Blade That Launched Asa Into Stardom
- Debut: Sentimental Drive (Chapter 135)
At one point in the story of Part 2, Asa and Yoru agree to join the Chainsaw Man Church so they can achieve their mutual goals: to save the red Chainsaw Man (Denji) and kill the black one (Pochita). This leads to a brief time skip in which Asa uses her power to get stronger and hunt more devils, while also becoming the church’s poster girl in the process.
She can briefly be seen wielding an unspecified, unnamed sword that must have been fairly strong, considering it allowed her to kill over ten different devils in the span of a few days. It is not clear which object she actually used to create this weapon, but it looks like a combination of a motorcycle handle and a pair of scissors' blade, and there’s no denying that she looks very strong and intimidating while wielding it.
Super-Strong Uniform Sword
It Was Made Even Stronger By Its Sentimental Value

As previously mentioned, Asa and Yoru have to believe that they own something before they can turn it into a weapon, but it also seems that their strength is defined by the sentimental value embedded into each object. This interesting aspect of their Weapon Creation ability was first seen when she turned her school uniform into a sword in order to fight her friend, Yuko.
With the Super-Strong Uniform Sword, Asa sliced Yuko’s Justice Devil-enhanced demonic form into small pieces in just a few seconds, and she even mentions that its immense power must come from the fact that the school uniform was a gift from her deceased mother. Unfortunately, this sword was quite strong but also quite fragile, seeing as it shattered into pieces when the school collapsed while Asa was inside.
College Fund Turrets
One Of The Few Ranged Weapons In Their Arsenal
- Debut: College Fund (Chapter 157)
Asa showcased her growth when she and Fami tried to break Denji out of one of the Public Safety complexes, because she was quickly able to turn the building’s sensor-based turrets into her own weapons without even touching them, all because she had previously bought them with her own college funds via a fake contract drew up by Fami herself.
The Famine Devil notes how Asa’s naïveté sometimes works in her favor (similarly to when she created the Aquarium Spear) because the bullets of her College Fund Turrets completely destroyed the building’s walls, thus allowing them to infiltrate. It’s a shame that she wasn’t able to take the turrets with her, because she could have used a strong ranged weapon at many later points in the story.
Aquarium Spear
Turning An Entire Building Into A Formidable Weapon
- Debut: Taste of Starfish (Chapter 116)
When Asa Mitaka and her classmates got trapped inside the Aquarium by the infamous Eternity Devil, she and Denji passed the time gathering the money they found lying around the building. But that’s when she hatched a brilliant plan: if she used the 1 million yen she had collected to “buy” the aquarium, she could turn it into a weapon and break the Eternity Devil’s entrapment.
While her plan definitely had some holes in it, it somehow ended up working and the creation of the Aquarium Spear not only freed everybody, but the weapon itself was able to kill the Eternity Devil in seconds. This is a devil that Denji had to wear down for multiple days back in Part 1, so the fact Asa could kill it with just one strike of the Aquarium Spear is solid proof of how extremely powerful this weapon was, mainly because it was powered up by her guilt over having destroyed the aquarium.
Building Sword
A Necessary Tool For Their Fight Against The Falling Devil
- Debut: With One Life (Chapter 204)
As if turning an aquarium into a spear wasn’t already impressive enough, Yoru was eventually able to turn an entire skyscraper into a sword during her second encounter with the Falling Devil. When this powerful Primal Fear threw a massive building at her, Yoru acted quickly and turned it into the Building Sword.
With a brand-new weapon in hand and some regained confidence, Yoru charged into battle against the Falling Devil. Unfortunately, the Building Sword is nowhere to be seen the next time Yoru/Asa appears in the story, meaning that it must have broken at some point in their fight. But considering it was made from one giant building, coupled with the fact that Yoru was able to use it to go toe-to-toe against a Primal Fear, there's no doubt that it was one of the strongest weapons in her entire arsenal.
Room 606 Sword
Asa Turned Her Entire Apartment Into A Giant Longsword, And It Was Worth It
- Debut: Room 606 Sword (Chapter 148)
As the main protagonist of Chainsaw Man Part 2, Asa Mitaka has inevitably starred in many memorable and exciting scenes that made her look like a boss, with one of them being her confrontation against Hirofumi Yoshida and the devil he made a contract with, the Octopus Devil. After losing an arm and being restrained by a giant tentacle, Asa was able to turn her entire apartment into a massive sword without even needing to touch it.
This resulted in the creation of the Room 606 Sword, which was so incredibly powerful that Yoru/Asa had trouble trying to control it. Even Yoshida, a seasoned Devil Hunter with a lot of experience and a contract with a strong devil, was forced to escape when he noticed that he was no match for the War Devil and her Room 606 Sword. It’s also important to point out that this weapon’s immense strength was caused by the world finally remembering what a real war is, and thus, indirectly empowering Yoru.
Left Tank Gauntlet And Right Gun Gauntlet
Two Powerful Weapons Created From Two Powerful Devils
- Debut: Two Children (Chapter 176)
Throughout the story of Part 2, both Asa and Yoru were able to turn objects, buildings and other people into weapons, but the War Devil finally displayed the true strength of her Weapon Creation ability when she used it on two devils that she considers her own children. During her long-awaited confrontation with Chainsaw Man, Yoru turned the Tank Devil and part of the Gun Devil into gauntlets for her left and right arms, respectively.
Needless to say, these two gauntlets were (and still are) incredibly potent and efficient, since the Right Gun Gauntlet can fire massive bullets that were able to destroy an entire city and even pierce through Chainsaw Man’s defenses. But the Left Tank Gauntlet has the most impressive ability of the two, as Yoru can use it to replicate any weapon she and Asa she had previously created and fire them at her opponents. By combining all of their weapons, she was able to temporarily defeat the Falling Devil.
