The following contains major spoilers for Chainsaw Man: Assassins Arc anime and the Chainsaw Man manga.Chainsaw Man' s latest chapter has wasted no time whatsoever raising the stakes of Denji and Yoru's final battle. Having had his fill of Earth's devils, Denji opens a door to Hell as Chainsaw Man, forcing Yoru to follow him into the series' single most dangerous setting. Every time the characters go to Hell in Chainsaw Man, they run into dangers unlike any other – it's only a matter of time before Denji and the War Deviil come face to face with a new Primal Fear. More importantly, though, Denji willingly going to Hell to search for more devils gives him the perfect opportunity to reunite with a fan favorite character and perhaps his greatest buddy: Power.

Chainsaw Man Sends Denji Back To Hell in War Devil’s Final Battle

Hungry to eat some "real devils," Denji descends into Hell as Chainsaw Man Part 2 gets ready to reintroduce Primal Devils and shake up the status quo.

Power died at the end of Chainsaw Man Part 1 during Denji's final battle with Makima. Near the end of the Control Devil arc, Power sacrifices her life by feeding Denji all of her blood and forming a contract with him. Denji's contract with the Blood Devil stipulates that he must promise to find her again. There's no telling what Chainsaw Man is thinking at any given moment, and opening the door to Hell is a massive risk that could easily backfire. It's also the only way Denji can actually fulfill his promise, though. The battle against Yoru has been at a stalemate for weeks now, but tracking down the new Blood Devil might be exactly what Denji needs to turn the tide of battle, save Asa, and put a stop to the War Devil once and for all.

Chainsaw Man Chapter 225 Quietly Sets Up Power's Comeback

Denji and Yoru in Chainsaw Man Chapter 225

Although she's made flashback appearances here and there throughout Part 2, Power has been dead for nearly six years now and hasn't had a role in Chainsaw Man's story since dying at the end of Part 1. Even then, her presence looms over Denji and it's clear he still thinks of her (and Aki). Chainsaw Man Chapter 225 ends with Denji exclaiming to Yoru that he wants to gobble up stronger devils in Hell, closing off with them both staring out into a sea of darkness: the same place he's sure to find the Blood Devil.

As Power explains during the Control Devil arc, a devil will always revive themselves in Hell after being killed, giving them another chance to be reincarnated on Earth. Denji has never been able to find the Blood Devil on the surface, which means she might very well be waiting for him in the depths of Hell. Even if Denji hasn't intentionally brute-forced his way into Hell to find Power, now is the perfect time for their paths to cross.

Denji Can Finally Fulfill His Promise To Power & Find The Blood Devil In Hell

It's been over half a decade out-of-universe since Denji made his contract with Power, and with Part 2 clearly in its endgame, Chainsaw Man is running out of time to tie up loose ends. Of course, Tatsuki Fujimoto could also be nowhere near the end of Chainsaw Man Part 2 – it's always hard to tell where he's taking a story, something Fire Punch fans know all too well – but given CSM Part 2 is now longer than Part 1 and the obvious parallels between Denji's fight with Makima & Yoru, all signs point to Fujimoto wrapping up the current storyline with the War Devil sooner rather than later.

This doesn't mean Chainsaw Man Part 3 is out of the question, though, and Power's return would be a smart way to bridge the series into a brand new storyline. Denji reuniting with Power would book-end Parts 1 and 2, and give him a potential edge in stopping the War Devil. Things could also backfire horribly in classic Fujimoto fashion, leading to a new status quo Denji, Asa, and Power have to contend with in Part 3. Either way, Denji looking for devils in Hell has to amount to something beyond just running into more Primal Fears. There's never been a more perfect time to bring Power back.

Power's Return Is Long Overdue

Chainsaw Man Part 2 understandably hasn't had a lot of time to focus on Part 1's cast or loose ends. With Asa acting as a co-protagonist alongside Denji, there's really no space for characters like Kishibe or for Denji to go on a multi-chapter storyline looking for Power when he was actively taking care of Nayuta. It's also easy to forget just how little time has passed in-universe since Nayuta died; but Denji now firmly the main character again and Asa out of the picture thanks to Yoru fully possessing her, Fujimoto finally has a chance to pull on narrative threads that have been left hanging for ages now.

Contracts in Chainsaw Man cannot go unfulfilled, and Denji reuniting with Power via the Blood Devil would bring some excellent drama into Part 2's final story arc. Even more so if Denji runs into a recently revived Control Devil and is somehow forced to choose between Power and Nayuta. He'd be forced to explain to Power his relationship with Nayuta, since Power's frame of reference for the Control Devil would have been Makima. There's also the heartbreaking possibility the Blood Devil will be nothing like Power at all, forcing Denji to accept that his friend really is gone for good. There's a lot of potential in bringing Power back, and it shouldn't come as a surprise if she finally makes her long-awaited return in the next few chapters – for better or worse.
